The best sounding coil cable out there.

The Lava Retro Coil 20 foot cable uses a 99.99% OFC low strand count copper conductor and superior shielding. This cable was designed by Lava Cable to provide world-class sonic performance and low noise using G&H Silent plugs that also let you plug in without pops or buzzes.

Lava's Retro coil cable delivers great sound but it offers a utilitarian advantage as well. The coiling makes for no more hassles when bundling and removes the need to worry about getting caught up in messy cords on stage.

Completely made in the USA.

  • Great Except

As reviewed by Andrew on 4/15/2011

I have the same problem with the spring loaded 90 degree. after a while though i guess it broke in and stopped popping out. it only happened to me once or twice and that was i think because i was tugging on it, but im not sure. overall its a great cable with the silent plugs. and its a quality cable. it doesnt unscrew or come apart like those cheap cables. its definitely worth the 60 bucks though!

  • Great cable, rotten end

As reviewed by Tom Schupbach on 3/28/2011

The cable itself is great, no issues with sound and no crackles or hiss in use. The coils are nice and tight, extends easily (although I've only had one gig with it so far) and solved the problem of me getting tangled up in the cable while performing. The straight end is great, no issues there, but the 90 degree end (with the "silent" feature) is something I can't use. I play a Parker Deluxe Fly and the barrel part of the 90 degree end, which is spring loaded, popped the cable out of my guitar in the first five minutes of use. After it happened a second time, I swapped ends and plugged the straight end into the Fly, problem solved on that end. The 90 degree end the popped out of my Boss Stage Tuner! I wasn't pulling or stretching the cable either time, the spring loaded barrel pulled the end out of both the guitar and the tuner! I had to wedge the tuner next to a stand in order to keep the cable plugged in. Bottom line, this would be a great cable if the silent feature is junked, which is what I'll have to do to use it. I hated to pay this much for a high quality cable and then have to replace an end just to use it. That is why the 3 Star Rating, otherwise it would have been a five.

  • So far so good!

As reviewed by Steve T on 4/28/2011

I've used mine about 5 times. Reminds me of the old days where you didn't have to walk all over your chords. I have been using a Monster cable and when I switched from cheap cables to that one I noticed much better signal strength. I'd say this one is just as good if not better. I haven't had any problems with the 90 degree plug but can't figure why they used that one, after all I didn't know there was anything wrong with good quality 90 degree plugs anyway. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was that I'd like to use if for about a year and see how it holds up.
