Comments about Lanikai SMP-TCA Solid Monkey Pod Tenor Cutaway Ukulele:
Purchased this without trying it first. I was not disappointed when I received it. First it is a beautiful looking instrument. Second, the slotted headstock and the cutaway body make it easy to use and hold. It is light but feels good. The pick up system is one of the best and speaks for itself. I ordered their design hard case and was also pleased with it. As for the sound, the ukulele is just starting to open up and it has a pretty good sustain. The natural Monkey Pod wood is a very hard wood which could dampen the volume but the loudness seems to be adequate for playing unplugged. If I need more volume the I merely plug in to my Amp and I'm Good but I have not seen any problems with its normal volume. The Aquila strings are a natural for this uke.
