Overview

This dynamic Lanikai SM-T ukulele with its beautiful appearance will certainly turn heads at your next jam session. The solid spalted mango wood allows for heavy strumming with the balance needed for delicate fingerstyle playing. Rounding off this gem of a tenor ukulele are the gold-plated Kluson-style tuning machines that ensure long hours of stress-free playing.

The tenor ukulele body offers deep tone, with a bolder projection in a slightly larger-bodied instrument. Ready for the stage, the sound is ideal for melodic finger movements or rhythmic strumming, and the uke's size lets you take it wherever you feel inspired to play. The beautiful spalted mango body offers tremendous beauty, with a lovely tone that's full and balanced. The tenor uke's 17-1/2" scale provides smooth, comfortable access all along the instrument's 19 frets. The tenor ukulele's strong mahogany neck adds strength to the instrument's construction, while the sturdy ebony bridge and fingerboard complement each note's sustain and decay.

Dressed with a natural gloss finish and featuring gold-plated hardware, this tenor ukulele is a model of easy playability. If you've never played ukulele before, get ready for a world of fun. The Lanikai SM-T ukulele is an addicting instrument that can and will be taken everywhere.

The Lanikai SM-T ukulele is strung with Aquila Nylgut Strings.

looks beautiful but silent

By Gerald Laspinas

from antioch ca.

Comments about Lanikai SM-T Solid Spalted Mango Tenor Ukulele:

I've search and search online, read reviews after reviews and watch youtube for months trying to find the best for my money, at $330. on sale is ok i can live with that but this is my 3rd lanikai sm-t the first one had a foam inside the second one the wood grain was not that impressive and the third one has bubbles on the edge like someone is in a hurry painting the uke. I think anyone who spend that kind of money you should get a perfect looking one. the problem is that its so beautiful so i keep getting it. I guess I don't mind it, ok everyone says its a muted ukelele -YES YES YES its almost silent with aquila stings on it my cheap $75. makai tenor uke with cheap strings blows it away -at least the volume, ok I said it yes its beautiful but silent. I guess I like the look of it and even though its quiet it does have a nice sweet tone to it.

Awesome uke!

Comments about Lanikai SM-T Solid Spalted Mango Tenor Ukulele:

This ukulele is awesome, I've had it for about a year and a half and loved every minute of it! It looks amazing, people love it. It sounds even better. I went to a Jake Shimabukuro concert (look him up) last year and got him to sign it. He played my uke and loved it too. It has a nice, warm sound and doesn't sound thin like cheaper ukuleles sometimes do. I also put d'addario classical guitar strings on it which I highly recommend, it makes it sound even better. I bought it for a lot more than this price and it was totally worth it. I honestly can't think of one thing I don't like about it, it even smells good! You will not be disappointed with this uke!

Solid Mango has a sweet sound

By Eric

from Everett Wa

Comments about Lanikai SM-T Solid Spalted Mango Tenor Ukulele:

I have played guitar for 20 years and in that time have owned several guitars. I decided to pick up the Ukulele to learn something new and to have a little fun with that island sound. After reviewing so many different styles I came across the solid Mango. I knew that I needed to get solid wood and not laminant as most are in order to get the best possible sound. Tenor is what would be used by most profesionals as it does give you the best range. The first thing I recommend is to change the strings with a good set. After doing this it improved the tone, sound volume and tuning stability. The review: The Good- Solid wood construction using Mango, Ebony and Mohagany. Non plastic nut and saddle Set up was perfect, easy to play and no buzz Even though there is a high gloss coating the sound is quick good The Bad - Strings.. replace first thing and everything improves Tuners feel soft. Not sure if this is because the gears might be plastic or I'm not used to the nylon strings (I play metal strings with guitar). I dont feel they are an issue just not very solid feeling.
