Lanikai offers the NK Natural Koa Ukulele as a striking edition to the Lanikai Custom Series. This concert ukulele is constructed from gorgeous woods with exotic figuring and highly contrasting tones due to special construction techniques and a meticulous process used for selection.
The NK (Natural Koa) ukuleles display Lanikai's commitment to tradition by crafting these instruments with solid Hawaiian koa tops and Hawaiian koa back and sides. The concert-size NK-C ukulele features a rosewood fretboard, die-cast tuners, abalone binding, koa headstock overlay, and comes equipped with Aquila Nygut strings.
"The long-established use of koa on ukuleles is no accident, the tones produced by this wood are synonymous with the ukulele itself," says Drew Lewis, Product Manager, adding "Nothing sounds or looks like koa."

This is an intermediate Uke that plays decently and looks great with the Koa wood. I think like all wood instruments it needs to age to get a better tone quality. Most Uke's I have played are older Mahogany ones both expensive and inexpensive and the tone quality seems richer to me.
For this price, you will NOT find a better Uke. As a musician in a band that features this instrument on several tracks, I can assure you will be impressed. It is also very comfortable to use, no extra pressure on the fingers to play this, the shape allows you to glide across the instrument with ease! I definitely recommend it to ANYONE!
i have always wanted a ukulele, but this does not sound like one. a ukulele is supposed to sound hawaiian, sure they tried to get the sound, but its touched up too much. so if you want a ukulele that sounds like sounds like an out of tune guitar, then here you go. but nobody wants that and its a bit expensive, $330, not for me!
Great for someone who is just starting out playing ukulele or for someone who has experience. Have not had any intonation issues. Love how this ukulele looks, feels, and sounds. Ive been playing ukulele for about a year. Taught myself after playing guitar for six years.
a bit dull for ukulele and dose not stay in tune at all
