A magic combination of a solid spruce top and quilted ash back and sides.

Straight from the creative minds at their concept shop Lanikai are proud to introduce the Lanikai Quilt Ash Series. Lanikai has paired a special batch of quilted ash with a solid spruce top creating a series of ukuleles that has a bright lilting tone that is perfect for the stage or your recording session.

A custom wide bone nut was used for greater string spacing making these instruments easy to play. Mahogany body binding, skunk stripe and butt stripe compliment the understated natural satin finish of the LQA series. Gold plated geared tuning machines and the new Prestige Lanikai Logo add to the charm of these fine instruments.

A concert ukulele is slightly larger than a soprano with a fuller sound, perfect for beach parties or small gigs.

  • Have this ukulele professionally set up

As reviewed by Eric Ellery on 4/29/2012

I bought this to hear the "bright lilting" sound of spruce and ash in a ukulele. Out of the box this ukulele was plinky, had no resonance, no overtones, and no sustain. It would not stay in tune. It was bright, but the Lanikai LQA-C really did not sound like a ukulele. The action seemed too high, so I lowered the saddle height a bit and tried it with new D'Addario Pro Arte strings. It started to sound like a ukulele, had some resonance and sustain; still looking for the lilting sound. May try the Aguila strings again. So, if you have to hear the sound of a spruce and ash ukulele, I would suggest having the Lanikai LQA-C professionally set up before you play it. My opinion: There are better sounding ukuleles in this price range and even in lower price ranges.
