The punchy sound of the roaring '20s revisited in this banjolele, updated with gorgeous hardwoods.

Popularized in the roaring '20s and '30s, the banjolele answered the call from popular performers for greater volume. From there the unique banjolele tone solidified itself into the lexicon of ukulele and banjo music and is well-loved for its distinct sound.

This Lanikai banjolele features aged brass hardware, a flamed maple resonator, maple neck with flamed maple headstock overlay, maple tone ring, no-knot tailpiece, rosewood fingerboard, flamed maple body and neck binding, and a Remo Banjolele head. The LBU-C Lanikai banjolele comes with a custom-fitted banjolele gig bag.

The banjolele is strung with Aquila Nylgut Strings.

  • great looking, fun instrument

    I purchased this as a gift for someone who can play the guitar/piano/uke/theramin. This is a handsome instrument - even more so than the picture - well-constructed with a nice weight to it. You can tune it to give the instrument different sounds/soul. The musician who received it seems to prefer a "dirty" sound. Regarding tuning... it takes a little patience - alternately adjusting the strings and bridge - and you may not get each string exactly right but that's the nature and fun of the instrument. If you're someone who can play a uke and looking for a dirty banjo sound, this is the instrument for you.

  • Performance Piece

    I have played guitar, banjo and ukelele..all in a performance situation. I purchased this little beast as something to play on the fly and take in the car on trips. I have found that it has such a unique sound that I also use it now during performances where it gets alot of attention. I plan on purchasing a second one as a beater so I can use the one I have for performances. Lanikai has a winner with this!!!

  • Great for Beginners with some Cash

    this is a fun instrument. not much to be said about it. Nice sound, great action, and not too shaby on the price. If you wanna add a unique sound to your music this works perfectly
