The Laney Lionheart L5T-112 amp provides the evocative, classic tones of hot tubes pushed hard, but at a volume level your neighbors can live with! Featuring the purest of designs: single-ended Class A output achieved with a single EL84, driven from 3x 12AX7 preamp tubes. The L5T-112 combo amplifier also features gold-plated PCB's and jack sockets. Sealed gold contact relays are used in all signal paths for minimum sound coloration, and the L5T-112 comes equipped with studio-quality digital reverb. Each L5T-112 Lionheart features a hand-stamped build number in the order they come off the Laney production line, and a custom made Lionheart dust cover.

The Lionheart combo amp represents everything learned through 40 years of Laney tube heritage, distilled into a single amplifier range. Designed to deliver the ultimate tone of a tube being pushed hard - warm and expressive, at an output level that can be used in everyday environments.

Best Amp I've ever owned

By Shooter Janes

Comments about Laney Lionheart 5w Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

When you buy a Laney, you're thinking modern metalhead gear, right? Well, this amp definitely isn't that. It has that sweet vintage tone in SPADES, and it looks even better in person than it does in the pictures.

This amp is so versatile! It has a really, really nice clean tone that I dig. It's LOUD for 5 watts; it feels louder than a Vox AC10, but not quite as loud as an AC15, for reference.

Again, that clean one is NICE. It's smoother than brighter, but you can get some nice bright tones that come close to Fender sounds with the 'Bright' switch.

The distortion, though, is just world-class. I love pushing the clean channel and getting that JUST breaking-up sound, but switching to the dirty channel gets some GORGEOUS, full, blooming, rude distortion.

I can play nearly ANY style of music with this amp, and it just excels. It definitely leans towards the British end of the spectrum, but it does American style sounds very respectably.

Comes with the hard to find British-made Celestion Greenback, which doesn't really break in, it just ages so gracefully and sounds sweeter the longer you own it.

If I had to sum up the tone with one word, I'd say 'Vintage'. It just plain sounds SO vintage, and SO good. Buy one. You'll love it.

Comments about Laney Lionheart 5w Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

I was in the market for a small, low-wattage tube amp to compliment my '94 Fender "Evil" Twin Amp, which is just too loud for day to day use around the house, where I do most of my playing. I had narrowed my choices down to either a Princeton Reverb, which is an established classic, or the 5-watt Lionheart. I'll be completely honest here, I always thought of Laney as metalhead type amps, and being more of a classic rock to indie rock guy, Laney amps weren't even on my radar initially. I happened upon a few posts in various forums where this particular Laney was mentioned alongside the Princeton Reverb as great low-wattage amps. The Lionheart was said to have more of an AC30 vibe (due its Class A design), which seemed like a good choice for me, since I already have a great sounding Blackface clean in my Twin. After much back and forth, between the various Princetons and the Lionheart (at one point an AC15 was even in the running) I settled on the Lionheart. And boy am I glad I did.

The clean channel sounds great at low volumes, and really starts to get dirty in a great crunchy/bluesy way higher up the volume knob. The drive channel covers a wide range of rock tones, and sounds amazing too. There's a Drive Volume channel that when used in combination with the Drive knob really gives you a ton of versatility. In addition to the usual tone controls the amp has a bright switch, and an overall tone control. There's an FX Loop on the back, along with an output for an External Cab (with ohm selection options) and a Footswitch in (which is included). The spring reverb sounds good, but never gets quite as wet sounding as my Twin, which sounds drenched at 3, and like you're only hearing wet signal at 10. The Lionheart's spring is barely audible at 3 and feels very evenly blended with the dry sound at 10 (so if you're a surf player, you may find yourself longing for more).

The amp looks great too, and it's light enough to carry comfortably. Hard to make this amp sound bad!

Comments about Laney Lionheart 5w Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

Was disappointed that it no longer comes with Heritage G12H, they are using the G12H anniversary Celestion now which has different specs and is made in China not England. They have replaced the spring reverb with digital as well. The amp is also no longer made in UK, now they are made in China. Although the amp still sounds great, I just feel I did not get what I thought I was buying. Guitar Center needs to update their description of this amp and the price needs to be adjusted to reflect the changes made in the product.

Also there is no more spring reverb, it's digital now
