Overview

Featuring the same great Ironheart tones as the bigger heads but in a low-wattage studio package with some neat features added.

It would be nice to record in a situation where making a lot of noise was not an problem, but in most cases people are recording in home studios, and making a lot of noise is not always an option. So the Ironheart IRT-Studio has a couple of features designed specifically to allow you to get a great tone whether you are recording in the studio or recording live.

The IRT-Studio features a USB Audio I/O and a RE-AMP send jack. The USB supplies both a dry signal and the processed signal - split left and right to your DAW - directly into either your PC/Mac or iPad, which means that you can alter the guitar tone of your original recording - without having to re-track anything!

The IRT-Studio has an internal dummy load, so, unlike a conventional tube-loaded amp, you don't need to connect an external speaker - which gives you truly silent recording.

It also houses a high-quality speaker-emulated record out immediately after the output section, which means it delivers all-tube tone to your DAW or PA or both at the same time for recording your live shows.

Just what I needed

Comments about Laney Ironheart IRT-Studio Rack Tube Guitar Head with USB Interface:

Great little tube amp, with quite a few bells and whistles. I started out looking for a low priced, low power, tube amp, for practicing, for some reason I got interested in the Blackstar HT-5RH and more or less made up my mind that was the amp for me. During the course of research on the HT-5RH, I read where some say that amp is more of a hybrid amp and somehow stumbled across Laney , first looking at the Cub line, eventually reading more about the IRT-Studio. While the IRT-Studio , was pushing the higher end of my original budget, it's feature set seemed worthy of the higher price. I eventually bought one, the first one I got had some sort of intermittent problem , it would work sometimes for a hour or two without a problem, other times it would problems every 20 minutes or so. I began to have serious doubts about my purchase, but when it was working, it sounded rather nice, so I took it back and ordered another. Well, the second IRT-Studio I got has no problems, it sounds great, it's three channels provide great versatility. I haven't really made use of all the bells and whistles this amp has built in, like re-amping and direct audio out. Yet, from everything I have seen and heard from this little amp, it really is pretty much perfect for my own needs. If I hadn't had the problems with the first one that I got, I would have given 5 stars, as this really is a great little tube amp. The rack mount style and 'studio' type features that this IRT-Studio amp has, are icing on the cake for me. As a side note, last weekend, I had a chance to check out one of the Blackstar HT-5RH amps I had originally been interested in. I can tell you that amp is no where near as nice as the IRT-Studio. The Blackstar really doesn't seem to be responsive to subtle differences in picking, where the IRT-Studio is VERY responsive to these subtle differences. Now, the IRT-Studio is nearly twice the price of the HT-5RH, but after actually using both, I am very glad I didn't buy the Blackstar, and have no regrets about my purchase of the Laney.

Comments about Laney Ironheart IRT-Studio Rack Tube Guitar Head with USB Interface:

My main rig is a Mesa Mark V combo that stays in the studio. I was on the hunt for moderately priced three channel amp that I could play either with headphones or through my studio monitors at low volume and in a pinch use as a backup amp with the PA

I demo'd the Blackstar HRT-5, Carvin V3M, Peavey Classic 20 and 6505 mini, and other amps and all fell short on the DI output ranging from marginally usable on the Classic 20 to "why did they bother" on the Carvin.

The Laney IRT Studio DI Cab Emulated output sounds full and lush. Three channels is what I needed and all three sound great.

I would highly recommend you put this on your short list.

Comments about Laney Ironheart IRT-Studio Rack Tube Guitar Head with USB Interface:

I'm running this out 2 celestion 30 speakers,
a hot-rodded strat, W/SD pups, into Rp1000 (4CM) for extra EQ, compression, chorus and delay to the IRTS.

I'm getting good warm smooth yet edgy lead bite.
so good cleans, the tubes break up nicely when you push the gain, and bark when driven.

there are even other tubes sets out there to tweak it.

I bought this after allot of research, and was skeptical. Needed a low wattage amp that could still stand up at a garage jam or small pub.

I am really pleased, seems like a versatile lil amp that sings when handled and screams when pinched. And my ears aren't bleeding, and my backs not broke.
      :)
