The Basswood body and high-output ceramic pickups offer up clean, biting tone, and the Black Satin finish and black hardware make the Laguna LE50 guitar look as mean as it sounds.

First guitars are a tough call - but this one fits the bill!! My 9-yr-old nephew is learning to play guitar. While he has applied himself to a 3/4 acoustic - HE WANTS TO ROCK!! After a couple of hours watching his face contort and smile while playing vintage SG with maximum OD, I knew I had to get him an electric - quick trip to GC, GREAT HELP from Mike in Glen Burnie (thanks) and a little time plugged in at the store and I was sold - this is a great 1st axe - slick n' easy action, simple controls, good sound, right size, decent workmanship, tough finish, and a price that is appropriate for something you know is going to get knocked around. Great job Laguna - you nailed it!

Bought this Laguna short scale guitar a couple years ago as an impulse buy. My kids were with me and thought it would be fun. While and experienced guitarist could probably use it for having in the back-of-a-car, young players will have a tough time. It looks nice and seems very reasonably built given the price, it just doesn't stay in tune. At all. Not even for a moment. Not even sure if it's worth changing strings on it. My kids also complained that the edges of the frets were rough. I tend not to notice things like that and expect they'll wear down over time.

Comments about Laguna LE50 Short-Scale Electric Guitar:

Good price for the guitar I guess, but you GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. Horrible fret buzz, frets 1-5 really bad buzz. Pickups are not great either. The only plus I would say would be the looks. Boutght one a few weeks ago. Not satisfied..

Comments about Laguna LE50 Short-Scale Electric Guitar:

My sister has small hands & has had difficulty learning guitar because of that.

She loved that she could wrap her hand all the way around the neck & touch her thumb to her middle finger. The frets are also closer together (up & down the neck) so she won't have to stretch as far to make chords n stuff.

I've been playing a little over 30 years & so I picked out this guitar for her as a birthday gift. I went into my local Guitar Center & played 3 different guitars that were designed for short fingers. This one was the best.

I loved the feel: The strings were a comfortable distance from the fretboard without buzzing.

I loved the sound: The clean sounded great on all pickup toggles, & I was super impressed with the heavy sound that the pickups delivered.

I love the look & feel of this guitar! I feel like I hit the Jackpot for my sisters birthday gift.

    Tried it

    By Alexander Short

    from Beaverton, OR

Comments about Laguna LE50 Short-Scale Electric Guitar:

Tried it in the store. I didn't plug it into anything, played with it out of curiosity. It was a dull black, not the "satin" it's trying to advertise up there. And it didn't quite feel like it was made out of wood, more like some kind of synthetic plastic-type material. But I digress. It felt pretty sturdy, and overall played pretty well. So if this guitar has any problems, it's the tuners or something electrical. Both can be easily upgraded.

Got it for my son. All I can say is a $100 guitar 20 years absolutely CAN NOT hold a candle to this. Cheap parts now are exceptional compared to back in Flintstone days.

        Very good beginner guitar.

Thinking on switching to the fender for kids, both Laguna's that I purchased for daughter are junk, I think she will need to stay with the full scale Les Paul Junior I 1st purchased for her if the fender has as many issues..very unhappy.

Comments about Laguna LE50 Short-Scale Electric Guitar:

Nice design. Love the scale of the neck! Good price point. Major fret buzz! 3rd fret so high it acted as a nut on several strings and could not be tuned. Took it back and exchanged for the worn display model that obviously had been adjusted with different strings. Now I need to figure out how to fix the scratched matte finish. If you buy a new one in box check it out first.

Comments about Laguna LE50 Short-Scale Electric Guitar:

I'm happy that I purchased this guitar. I bought this for my 10 year old daughter because of the shorter scale, but it also fits me nicely. Really good guitar for the money. Good sounding pickups with no excess noise.

Had some issues with guitar center though. At first they sent me a guitar that was clearly damaged prior to shipping. The shipping box was fine, but the guitar box was damaged. The guitar pickup was smashed in and broke. Still waiting for a refund for the first guitar. Apparently when you order online sometimes the products are shipped from a store and the store in Colorado was completely rude about returning the guitar even though the person I spoke with at the online number said the store should do an advance return, the store refused.

Guitar looked used and was missing a knob off of one of the tuners. At least I could return it at my local guitar center. Waste of my time and gas. Go buy a guitar in a store.
