LAGUNA GUITARS LAUNCHES "ONE GUITAR, ONE TREE" REFORESTATION INITIATIVE

Laguna Guitars, reflecting the passionate convictions of musicians, celebrates Earth Day by launching their new "One Guitar, One Tree" reforestation initiative. This plan involves planting one tree for every Laguna guitar made. In addition, Laguna continues to deepen its other practical efforts to reduce waste, recycle and conserve the planet's resources.

For decades, musicians have proudly been socially aware and urged others to take more action, advocacy and awareness in environmental matters. As musicians themselves, those at Laguna have always passionately supported that position, knowing that trees are an economical, long-term solution to many tough environmental problems, including air and water pollution, climate change, wildlife protection, habitat restoration and more. In partnership with AmericanForests.org and their Global Relief campaign, Laguna proudly plants a tree for each Laguna guitar made.

In addition, Laguna's shipping cartons are designed to provide maximum protection with a minimum of material. Their boxes are made from 100% recycled cardboard that is also 100% recyclable, which they naturally encourage wherever possible. Also, in the interests of conservation, they have decided not to print glossy, heavyweight catalogs as millions from various companies end up in landfills every year. Instead, Laguna provides extensive information online at their website (www.playlaguna.com) and a catalog will soon be available as downloadable PDF's, allowing users to print only those pages they want.

As with the design and manufacture of their guitars, Laguna welcomes an open dialogue with musicians and encourages them to share their thoughts and ideas on environmental matters including Laguna's "One Guitar, One Tree" initiative and other earth-friendly plans. All such feedback can be directed to environment@playlaguna.com. Please visit PlayLaguna.com or AmericanForests.org for more information on the "One Guitar, One Tree" initiative and Global Relief campaign.

A big fat surprise

By Donny

from Seattle

Comments about Laguna LE422 Electric Guitar:

I walked in saw the Laguna, didn't recognize the name and paid no attention to it....played 4 or 5 other guitars, came back to the Laguna picked it up and was surprised by the weight of it....I played it through a Vox amp and really didn't need to go to any other amp...I fell in love with this guitar right away.....fast neck, great tones from the pickup selections and the push/pull knob really made the humbucker mellow out in the clean and crunch modes....didn't do anything with the other pickup configurations as far as I could tell, but I use the humbucker 95% of the time anyway....the only complaint would be the trem which can't be pulled up more than a whole step, if that, but I haven't needed to make elephant noises in years anyway!!!......I'm not sure if there is much difference in the 422 verses the 322 accept the flame job on the 422 which is gorgeous.....this guitar is worth your time and money--bottom line....oh, and can anybody tell me why my guitar doesn't have LE422 on the headstock??......all it says is "custom-carved custom design"...serial number on the back....but it's cool...I love this guitar and will play it forever.

Laguna???

Comments about Laguna LE422 Electric Guitar:

Ok i know this guitar personaly... If you can remember back 7-8 years ago there was a guy named Keith Brawley who used to work for for fender but he branched out over seas and was getting a lot of his material from Korea and mad the brawley guitars. I bought one of the firsh A122 threat (same color and finish as this laguna). The body and neck and headstock is exactly the same. Anyways all an all this is a very versitle guitar for different sounds. Recomend this guitar for anyone who loves sound itself.

Love it , but...

By Dude

Comments about Laguna LE422 Electric Guitar:

This is a great guitar. Its not too heavy, it looks beautiful and it plays even better. The thing i don't like about it is that the strings break somewhat faster than with a floyd and the bridge (at least on mine) has slowly been rising. I am sure this is my fault because of playing too many dive bombs, but i just felt i should say that too. Still this guitar beats a Fender anyday.

Great Guitar

By playershirl

Comments about Laguna LE422 Electric Guitar:

I bought this guitar three months ago and was surprised at how easy it was to play. The neck is comfortable and it doesn't weigh as much as my Epifone Les Paul Studio. I love the trem, although I haven't learned to use it fully yet. The finish is beautiful. One thing I notice over the Epifone is that it stays in tune. I practice on it every day and it takes its beating from a beginner. I highly reccomment this guitar to eveyrone. It has a sweet tone and can compete with the best of all the others out there.

Worth Every Penny!!!

By Jamie

Comments about Laguna LE422 Electric Guitar:

Ok, I play professionaly and was looking for a new guitar with some versatility. I Already have a Les Paul, Fender Strat and a Ibanez RG350. I was looking for something inexpensive but versitle. Something that would allow me to switch from rock to jazz to blues on the fly. First impression of the guitar was not based on looks (even though its awsome!)I was first blown away by the hardware. After researching a little bit. I found that it comes with a very good wilkinson tremelo, locking tunners (a must),a teflon impregnated nut and it's coil tapped. Those features alone are worth the price. Its wood makeup is pretty unigue, its lousiana ash with a vanerred maple top. It has a little bit of weight but killer sustain. After really putting this guitar through the ringer live, I must say I am blown away. Tunning was very stable, lasted a week! Neck was fast and comfortable basically the same as a C neck on a strat. Electronics being that they are factory actually impressed me, very vintage sounding and sounded great dirty or clean. (very strange for stock pickups) I thought they would have to go asap! but now I am in no hurry. You will have to set this guitar up once you get it home. But you have to do that to all guitars, I don't care what you spend. Once set up, it's a dream. Now to the cons- the only real down side I have found with it is the pots. They work fine, but they are cheap and can be broken if you aren't carefull with them. Other than that it's a great buy.

My next axe for sure

By Michael

from Plano Texas

Comments about Laguna LE422 Electric Guitar:

So one day I got dropped off at GC to look at and play guitars. I am personally a big fan of Andy Timmons and this guitar looks and sounds very similar to his Ibanez AT300. When I played it I was a bit skeptical about the price. But this thing is definitely worth more than what you will be paying for it. The neck is surprisingly comfortable. It gets nice tones in any pickup position. It gets a nice bluesy strat esque kind of sound from the neck pickup and has scorching hot leads out of the bridge. The coil tap adds a nice country Tele sound to it. The only complaints that I have are that the electronics aren't top notch. The volume pot isn't exactly a high quality part. But it gets the job done really well. So I am actually selling my Jackson DKMG Dinky for this badboy. And with the leftover cash from the difference I am switching out the volume pot and neck pickup. So I can have a nice volume control and a rail pickup in the neck that I can coil tap. This thing is great without any mods though. I just have my own preferences. But this thing is definitely worth more than what you are paying for it so get it while you can.

Comments about Laguna LE422 Electric Guitar:

This guitar, though much cheaper than some high-end guitars, plays just as nice and has great tones. Neck is very smooth and it just feels like a solid guitar. well built. Beautiful, attractive finish too. Well worth the small amount it sells for.

Amazing Guitar, even compared to an expensive Strat etc!

By Laguna Man

from Parker, CO

Comments about Laguna LE422 Electric Guitar:

Update 10-8-09.. Bought this guitar last year (11-08) for a xmas present to myself. Like the other reviewers, I didn't know the brand Laguna, and was hesitant. But it felt right, looked beautiful, quality was exceptional, and the sound,,,,, well, I tried everything in the store, Strat's, Les Paul's, etc at 5 times the price, and I kept coming back to the "unknown". I went with my gut instinct and bought it on the spot. (rare for me). After playing it for almost a year, it's still my favorite! I've let band members play it, with 30 plus years exp.), and they are blown away, they call me the "Laguna Man". Exceptional is all I can say. I flat out love it, smooth neck, easy playability, incredible sound, top quality workmanship and the best of materials in wood. This is a SOLID guitar, and I would recommend it to anyone. P.S. mine stays in tune for weeks, I've never had a guitar that has done that,,,, ever. This thing ROCKS. Period!

Give it a chance! It will surprise your.

By Marshall

from Poteau, Ok

Comments about Laguna LE422 Electric Guitar:

Okay, so it isn't a "big" name brand, give this guitar a chance. I tried it out at Christmas and was talked out of buying it. I bought a Strat instead, played on it a few days and took it back. I still loved the Laguna LE422 (red) but couldn't make myself buy a "no name" brand. GET OVER IT! My wife kept telling me to go get the guitar I really like to play. It took until Father's Day, but I finally did buy the Laguna. I did a lot of research on it and am convinced I made a great choice. After I got it home and really started playing it for real, I really like it. It gets the strat sounds I want and the humbucker gets the bit I want for solos. I has a narrow neck and plays really smooth. One of my guitar buddies told me I needed a strat, but after he played it, he loved it, too. It has the extras like locking tuners, coil tap pick up,nice tremolo, and beautiful color (red). The yellow one is pretty, too, but the red is fantastic. For the money, you get a lot more than you think. I think you will hear more from Laguna in the coming years. This is a quality guitar and I love playing it. It doesn't come with a case, but I got a great hard case for cheap, so that's not a big deal. Again, GIVE IT A CHANCE, IT REALLY WILL SURPRISE YOU.

Excellent

By me

Comments about Laguna LE422 Electric Guitar:

For the price, I can't think of a better guitar. It is perfect for beginner to pro, has great sound and sustain, is easy and fast to play, and is extremely well made. The bridge is slightly problematic - it rises with use. Other than that, it is nearly perfect. Setup is easy, and the stock pickups are amazingly good.

Very Pleasant Surprise

By super steve

from Clovertucky, IN

Comments about Laguna LE422 Electric Guitar:

I have had this guitar for about a year now. I still play it often over several other quality instruments. I have found that the tonal range while similar to strat is unique, useful, and versital. All the hardware is of good quality, not the very best, and does not require replacement. The sustain is very good for a tremelo equiped guitar. At this price point you simply can't find a better value.

sick tone and killer looks

By Austin

Comments about Laguna LE422 Electric Guitar:

This guitar is one of the best guitars i have ever played. For one,the AAA flamed maple top is absolutely gorgeous. And it plays great! You can play anything on this guitar. And when I say anything,I mean anything. You can go play a metal gigg and then go play a jazz show after that and will play just as great for each. The pickups are spectacular. The combination of the two alnico custom single coils and humbucker, you get endless tones. It also has a very high quality wilkinson trem. You can dive bomb over and over without going out of tune.I guess the locking tuners have something to do with that to.It has a five way pickup switch, one volume knob and one tone knob.I've had my eye on this guitar for a while and I'm saving to buy it as we speak.I recommend this guitar to anyone and for any style.Do yourself a favor and save up a buck fifty and BUY THIS LAGUNA!
