  • great bass

As reviewed by Bob on 5/21/2010

Very bright. i can actually hear this one. i played several basses like in Art's review and this is definitely the one for sound and quality. i tried several picks from thin to hard and they all sounded great but i liked the hard triangle pick the best. When i plugged it into the amp it was very sensitive and loud and i could easily play without a pick. it is also a very beautiful instrument.

  • Excellent bass for the money

As reviewed by Art on 12/31/2008

Just bought this bass. Tried the Dean, Michael Kelly, Ibanez, Breedlove, even the Fender Victor Bailey. I honestly feel this guitar was better than all of them. The Bailey compares in quality and sound, although it has a definite mid-range tone that is either take-it-or-leave-it. The Laguna has a better low-mid and low end. The craftsmanship is just flawless, and it is a beautiful instrument. Perfect for a quick practice session and for acoustic ensembles, and plugged in the Fishman pre-amp gives you all the control you need to play at amplified volume. I simply cannot see why anyone would pay more for an acoustic bass than this one. And the TKL case fits nearly perfectly and is a very high quality, durable, attractive case. Every bassist should own an acoustic bass, and at this price, this is the one to own. Only one item on the wish list: A Laguna gigbag would be a welcome option.

  • The best of all!

As reviewed by Rafael on 9/6/2010

I tried a Dean, also a Ibanez and the sound is clear with no noisy strings. Plus really soft strings. I was able to play for an hour without hurting my finger tips at all. I had a five string Ibanez for four years, then a Warwick Thumbolt for 12 years. But Laguna it's so light weight, sounds really good. I love it! Thanks!
