The radical Lace Alumitone pickups have less resistance and high output with clear, big frequency response in a completely noise-free passive design. Constructed with aluminum rather than copper, they have a current driven design as opposed to conventional voltage-based guitar pickups.
The aluminum water jet cut exoskeleton is matted with a micro-winding using 90% less copper wire than traditional designs for an extremely lightweight and efficient pickup. Sonically, this gives these guitar pickups more volume, more bass, and more mids with nice, clear, smooth high frequency response that cuts.
Alumitone pickups normally require a slight pickguard modification, but now you can order a cool pickguard preloaded with 3 of these awesome single-coil pickups!

I was greeted by a knowledgable staff, told just what I needed to know and quoted a good price. I then got a quick store tour. Every associate was polite, fun and full of information. That was Friday. Best of all, my new loaded Lace pickguard was at my door on Tuesday and it was well tracked in the interim. Quick service, accurate information and a good price! I couldn't ask for more.
Looks great - retrofit a tired Strat. I am still trying to decide if the output on these is as high as what they replaced. It may just be that the tone is a little different; more highs and lows and less mids. The overdrive tone is a bit different out of the amp. It is probably a matter of getting used to them. Install was a snap. No noise out of these either. I don't get the "current-driven design" bit in the product description. Amp-ins are high impedence (read that "resistance"). The only way that current gets made is by the generation of a voltage working against that impedence. The current produced is proportionl to the level of voltage produced and the magnitude of the impedence.
