I bought this pickup for my jumbo acoustic so I could record and use my effects board. I wanted an inexpensive passive acoustic pickup. This seemed perfect, Lace makes good pickups and it was on sale for a great price. When I took it out of the box the CD with product and warranty information was not included. I looked past that and instaled it. The cork padding on the clamps that hold the pickup in place is thin. There is also no space between the clamps and tightening screws, so placement and tightening on the sound hole is delicate. Other wise instalation is really easy and the cable from the pickup is very well placed so that it does not interfer with strings. I needed to turn the normal, pre and post gain on my amp all the way up to hear any sound and that was still muted and fuzzy. I then ran the pickup into my effects board and turned the master volume all the way up on it as well to hear the guitar at a normal volume. I would imagine this pickup would be fine with a 100 watt amp. I returned the pickup the next day and got a Fishman NEO-D Humbucking pickup.
Ive had this for awhile using my Fender Acoustic Guitar but have to say that the connected chord does get in the way, and the sound is a little muffled....but other than that if you are looking for a low cost decent acoustic guitar pick up this would be great!
Just got this today, to record with m-audio on my computer. I have all my volumes turned up all the way and my guitar still sounds the quietist. I havent tried it with an amp. but with recording don't waste your money. I'm going to return this today. So mad!!
