Comments about LR Baggs Venue DI Acoustic Guitar Direct Box and Preamp:

I bought this used through Guitar Center to boost the output of my Eastman 815 acoustic-electric mandolin, which has an internal microphone but was too quiet. I'm a hobbyist but play in worship settings. I was able to EQ the output to sound like the natural mandolin tone and to boost the volume which was important to me, since, on occasion, I play outdoors or in a large church sanctuary. The tuner is a great asset, making clip-on tuners unnecessary. The tone boost gives the mandolin even more volume for those times when you want to play a solo. The unit runs on a 9V battery or a 9v DC adapter. I happened to own already own a 9v DC adapter, and it gave the unit much more power than the battery, which was great. I definitely recommend getting a 9v DC adapter. This was a good buy!

    Best DI I've played through

    By Chris Vanoli

    from Oxnard

Comments about LR Baggs Venue DI Acoustic Guitar Direct Box and Preamp:

I am a worship leader and just started using the Venue after using the LR Baggs Parra DI for the past 5 years and there is a difference. The feature I love the most about the Venue is that you can see (by the LED) when your gain is at the right level. On the Parra DI you had to listen for clipping and pull back a hair. Also you have more control with the EQ, and the preamp in this one just sounds sweeter and more musical. The built in tuner is a bonus and the adjustable boost option is great as I like to finger pick and strum. I set the boost for finger picking and normal for strumming and the sound guy (if you have the luxury) doesn't have to touch a thing. I highly recomend this.

    LR Baggs Venue

    By Gary Benson

    from Seattle WA.

Comments about LR Baggs Venue DI Acoustic Guitar Direct Box and Preamp:

Nice design, easy to use control knobs, boost feature, anti-feedback knob. Would like a true bypass feature for the onboard tuner like the Boss TU-2 has. The onboard tuner is very easy to read, but seems a bit slow at times. Also I don't understand why it doesn't let you control your volume when it's connected to the PA with an XLR output from the Venue; when connected with a 1/4" cord from the Venue, you can control your volume. A bit pricey compared to the Baggs Paracoustic DI, but that's life. It will be interesting to see how this fares against the Fishman Spectrum(which costs $50 more and has onboard effects sounds for different acoustics). I use the Venue by itself or with a Yamaha Magicstomp acoustic unit(no longer made), and it works nicely in tandem with that.

    LR Baggs Venue

    By Jorge Loera

    from Northridge, CA

Comments about LR Baggs Venue DI Acoustic Guitar Direct Box and Preamp:

I got the LR Baggs Venue to replase my LR Baggs Para Acoustics, both of these units have similar features for example the EQ, 1/4 inch input & output, XLR output, Phase switch, Gain knob, Feed back control & 9v battery. Venue has intergrated tuner it's very accurate, Boost switch this was a great addition, Venue lets you see battery life & signal strenth. My only problem is the sound coming out of the Venue, it sounds like your guitar sound is coming out of a buket, barrel that kind of sound, specially when playing through a big PA system, I can't get the natural sound out of the Venue. Remember I got the Venue thinking I was going to get the same sound quality because both units are LR Baggs but thats not what happed. The Para Acoustics EQ lets you sound the way you want, but I haven't been able to get a sound that I like from the Venue.

    Amazing

    By James

    from Lubbock, Texas

Comments about LR Baggs Venue DI Acoustic Guitar Direct Box and Preamp:

I cant put into words how much I love this thing. I play 5 nights a week in the bars and clubs and I've had so many people say how they love the sound of my guitar since I've started using this. The eq on this thing is far superior to the built in tone adjustment on my Yamaha XLL16 and most others I've played. I just wish I would have bought this thing sooner.

    Awesome!

    By Chris

    from Decatur, IL

Comments about LR Baggs Venue DI Acoustic Guitar Direct Box and Preamp:

Having used L.R. Baggs pickups, I had high expectations for the Venue DI. I was not disappointed. First, the unit is well-constructed and should hold up well for many years to come. EQ and other controls are well laid out, and the tuner is bright and easy to use. Most importantly, this device makes my guitars sound great! With only a small amount of tinkering, I was able to dial up pefect tone for my Martin 6- and 12-strings. Then there's the issue of feedback. With the notch filter, even the most technologically challenged guitarist can eliminate it in a matter of seconds. The Venue DI would be a steal at twice its price. Thanks, L.R. Baggs!
