Overview

The LR Baggs Element Active System VTC undersaddle acoustic pickup delivers performance previously unattainable from an undersaddle pickup. The streamlined and efficient design removes every unnecessary internal component to improve the coupling between the transducer and the guitar. This substantially improves the sensitivity of the transducer so the acoustic guitar pickup delivers a robust, lively, and open sound with great dynamics and a delicate high end.

The LR Baggs Element Active System pairs the Element undersaddle transducer with a pre-contoured all-discrete class A endpin preamp and includes small, removable soundhole-mounted volume and tone controls (VTC) for added convenience and versatility. The entire pickup system is designed to install easily and features plug-and-play performance. Also included with the acoustic pickup system is LR Bagg's Battery Bagg for secure storage.

Great sounding pickup, sounds very clean and has much less quack than the older Fishman models. However, I had to swap it out for a newer fishman because the first string was consistently half as loud as the rest. I've played another guitar with the same system installed, and it had the same problem. Not sure if they all are like this, but something to be aware of.That aside, the sound is great. The Element is more prone to feedback than the Fishman Matrix, but it has better dynamics. Very strong on the low end. However, the tone control is not really necessary imo?it cuts out the highs, which doesn't make much sense on an acoustic guitar, and is useless if you have string balance problems on the first string. The Matrix tone control scoops the mids rather than cutting the highs, so it can actually be used to make it sound a lot like the Element?with better balance and more tonal control. I'd recommend the Matrix as a more versatile and reliable pickup.

turns a regular acoustic into a A/E guitar. It sounds good, and the battery is reported to last somehting like 500 hours. so as long as you don;t leave the cable plugged in for weeks on end it should las a while.
works very well. i had it installed by professionals. it sounds good through DI and PA system. compares favorably to pickups found in higher end A/E guitars
this is my first pickup for an acoustic. so i don't have a comparison to other brands or models," but this was suggested by the pros that instaled it as the best ""bang for the buck""
seems expensive", but I plan on using this product until the guitar decays. there are cheaper products, but for the price it seems fair. jsut know that a pro would probable have to install this as some mods to the bridge are necessary.

Comments about LR Baggs Element Active System VTC Undersaddle Acoustic Pickup:

I had this pickup put in my Taylor 412 r . It sounds great and has tone and volume. I also bought one for my 522 limited edition Taylor but the bracing made it difficult to mount the tone and volume controls.

Comments about LR Baggs Element Active System VTC Undersaddle Acoustic Pickup:

This is one of a number of LR Baggs products I've installed and/or used. Overall, I like LR Baggs products and quality. While Piezos run the gamut on tone and price, the Element provides a good acoustic tone. I have at times needed to EQ the frequencies a bit, but the fundamental sound is usually very good.

Comments about LR Baggs Element Active System VTC Undersaddle Acoustic Pickup:

I have this pickup in 3 guitars. It is balanced across all of the strings and it provides a very clear representation of the guitar through an amp. The installation (done by a professional) is very aesthetic and unobtrusive. Getting to the battery is inconvenient, but the alternative would be cutting into the guitar for a battery compartment. Given the long battery life, this is not a big deal. All in all great product.

THIS IS AN AMAZING PRODUCT.... I HAD THIS INSTALLED IN MY MARTIN D-35 I WORRIED ABOUT THE HOLE THAT HAD TO BE DRILLED IN THE BRIDGE BUT IT IS SO SMALL IF DONE BY A EXPERIENCED LUTHIER IT WILL BE OK .....(WHICH I DID) MY KNEES WERE WEAK AND I AINT GONNA LIE I WAS SICK WHEN THE PROCESS ALL STARTED, LOL BUT WITH SKILLFUL HANDS AND KNOWLEDGE, IT ALL WORKED OUT OK.. WHEN I WAS IN NASHVILLE ALOT OF THE ACOUSTIC PLAYERS HAVE THIS PRODUCT INSTALLED IN THEIR GUITAR....IT IS SO WELL DESIGNED, EASY TO INSTALL..THE VOLUME AND TONE CONTROL KNOBS ARE VERY EASY TO OPERATE....COULD NOT BE HAPPIER....

              good pickup

              By Kitchener Kid

              from Mississippi

Comments about LR Baggs Element Active System VTC Undersaddle Acoustic Pickup:

After using other pickups for years, the sound of this pickup is always consistant, minor adjustments simple, plug in and play. I will definately buy others and use them in more expensive instruments. It is not noticable, nor did it affect the sound.
Easy to install, minimum tools required. Good adjustments, little buzz in midrange, maxed out may buzz. I prefer to scribe the saddle and sand down to the scribe mark, thus the action will not be affected.
              Trouble free.

              Wow, What a pickup

              By Pearl Bradley

Comments about LR Baggs Element Active System VTC Undersaddle Acoustic Pickup:

I have had 3 of these pick up systems installed in my guitars and I cant say enough about them. My recent installation was in a Martin D18V with the long drop in saddle and it went great. These pickups are built solid from the element itself all the way to the end pin jack and the volume-tone control knob. I play unplugged about 50% of the time in a Bluegrass setting and I also play in a Praise and Worship band at church with drums and electric instruments. I say that to emphasize that the system will not harm the natural sound of the instrument and is virtually unseen while being able to perform without feedback when alot of stage volume is present. I would buy nothing but the Baggs System
