The Dual Source Pickup System is a miniature onboard microphone/pickup mixing system that features all discrete Class A circuitry. The DS seamlessly combines a high-tech ribbon transducer with a high-quality FET condenser capsule for an affordable, simple-to-use one cord mix. A soundhole-mounted controller provides fingertip control of volume and mic levels. If you insist on having the presence and air that only a mic can add but do not want to haul around a rack full of gear or cut your guitar to install knobs, check out the DS. Currently available in 2 sizes, depending on supplies. The size difference refers to the saddle slot width. Most vintage style guitars have a .090, while most newer slots have a .120 width.

It is a dream for those of us that do not own acoustic-electric guitars to reproduce the sound of your guitar when amplified. Your dream can come true. I own a Martin D-35 and an Alvarez-Yari 12 string. I have had the older model dual source in my Martin for >10 years and a competitors' in my 12 string. I switched out my original dual source with the new dual source and placed my old dual source in my 12 string. The new transducer in the the new model dual source is awesome - reproduction of the sound is perfect. The older model dual source now in my 12 string is much better than the competitior's model. I put both of my guitars through a Fishman SA-220 and it is such a relief not having to make changes when switching guitars. I plan on saving some money and putting the new model dual souce in my 12 string. You will not be dissappointed in the LR Baggs Dual Source.
This system has been redesigned with a new, very high tech transducer. If you don't get an older unit that has sat on the shelf, you'll have the best available pickup system for acoustic. If you get an old system, call the company, send them the older transducer and they will exchange it for the new model. It will take your acoustic guitar to the highest level of warm sounds possible. You won't even need any kind of pedal devices. I will suggest the Digitech Vopcalist Live 4 for solo performances with this pickup.
