Crafted from Siam oak, these Latin Percussion LPP601 Performer Bongo Drums sing in the upper-mid frequencies with full open tones and crackle with high-pitched slaps. The exterior shell design and steel bottoms provide extra durability and stability when playing your bongos. EZ-Curve rims and tucked heads also come standard. An excellent and affordable choice for beginning and intermediate hand drummers. Head sizes are 6-3/4" and 8".

I bought these bongos about two days ago and they are great bongos!!! They have great pitch and sound. The heads aren't very great but those can easily be replaced. Overall great product.
These bongos were purchased as a companion to my LP Performer series congas, also in vintage fade finish. Upon opening the box, I was impressed by the weight. These are SOLID and build quite well for an entry intermediate grade instrument. The 6-3/4 and 8" heads, as another reviewer mentioned, are not spectacular but they are quite useable and tunable to get that great Latin and pop bongo sound. I did replaced them with Remo Fiberskyn 3s right away though, as I prefer the feel of synthetic heads on all my hand drums. The top comfort curve hoop on the macho had a tiny rough spot underneath, but it will not effect the playability of the drums in any way. The finish of these drums is beautiful. The colors are deep and rich, making them look much more expensive than they really are. They match my congas perfectly, and those were purchased more than 2 years ago, a testimony to consistent manufacturing processes.
