Best of Both Worlds!!! (Wood/Fiberglass)

By JESSIE CABAN

from Chicago, IL

Comments about LP Classic Top Tuning Conga:

I recently got a set from my local Chicago GC expert, Carlos Garcia. This is the drum that gives you the best of a wood drum (warmth) and a fiberglass drum (louder resonance). The fiberglass layer in the upper portion is to reinforce the hardware, as to last you a life time. What is often unstated, or forgotten to be mention, is that it makes the drum project much more, giving it a resonance that usually only found in fiberglass drums. Being that the drum isn't layered from top to bottom, and that the drum is made out of wood; the tone is a beautiful marriage of both the sound of wood and fiberglass. This is the number one thing I noticed when I played them at GC, and the reason I had to have them: sound! As for the looks, it is even more elegant in person, and it?s a classic instrument look. As for the top tuning, it?s a lot faster for me to tune. Don?t buy a top drum without trying these out.
