Overview

This LP Aspire Accents cajon has a front ply hardwood playing surface with a solid hardwood body. Its large rubber feet keep it in place while you're pounding out those tasty beats.

The LP Aspire cajon gains its emphatic bottom-end from a solid hardwood body, constructed from woods chosen for their resonant properties. The interior houses a set of wire snares for those authentic flamenco trills and the durable hardwood front panel is adjustable with varying screw tension. The internal snare wires are easily accessed and adjusted, as is the front panel.

The height is a convenient 17-1/4", comfortable for all players, while the width is 12" for ample resonance. To ensure that bass tones are not grounded into hardwood or otherwise non-carpeted floors, the LP Aspire cajon drum is fitted with large rubber feet.

Priced well and constructed sturdily, the Latin Percussion cajon is the perfect hand drum to introduce students, hobbyists, and even working club musicians to one of the hottest percussion instruments on the planet.

Comments about LP Aspire Accents Cajon:

I think this is a great starter cajon. I wanted to do some busking on the street with some friends, and I didn't want to commit a lot of money to a set of congas. This was much less expensive, but easily transported and easily set up. I play mostly blues and classic rock with it, but it allows for so many different types of music. I've never miked it, but I'm sure it would do fine miked up. Very happy with this purchase make a few years ago.

Darn good but not as specified

    By John

Comments about LP Aspire Accents Cajon:

Well, this is a very handsome instrument. It sounds great when you beat on it. Many good tones and accent sounds to be had with this thing. It is very fun to play, good bass sound, good tom notes near the top, snares do sound nice. I don't know why any novice cajon played would not like this. My main issue is that on the unit I received the snares are NOT adjustable in any way as is explained in the product description. Do I like this? Yes? Will I keep this? Yes. 5 stars? No. Mainly due to the snares not being adjustable in any way form or fashion. I've learned to whup on it so there is little snare sound when I don't want it but buyer beware. I got the Dark Wood Streak version and it looks great. With a cajon port I know it will sound even better.

Comments about LP Aspire Accents Cajon:

I did some research before buying my own cajon. I played a Meinl Headliner snare cajon for 3 years for our church worship, "unplugged" and double mic'd. The LP Aspire Accents cajon has very little "buzz" when playing bass tones and is more responsive than other cajons I have played. I especially like the multiple rows of snare wires in their own section at the inside top of the cajon. The only drawback in my opinion is that the snare cannot be adjusted or turned off but I found that the back of the cajon has a nice sound if you switch it up between songs.

Comments about LP Aspire Accents Cajon:

This cajon has a great sound!

I really wanted a cajon to replace lugging my drumset around for small gigs where the whole cymbals/mutilple toms setup was unnecessary. However, I mostly bought this for playing in church. I went to Guitar Center set on buying a Meinl, but after trying them all out I went with this one. It had a much deeper bass and better snare "pop". I like that it has actual snares rather than the two strings like Meinl has. It has been super fun to play. I always thought the LP Aspire line in all their instruments was "cheap" but this cajon has definitely proven me wrong. It gets a great sound and is really versatile.

Comments about LP Aspire Accents Cajon:

I've been playing guitar and drums for about 20 years, and have heard about a Cajon since I saw one played on stage about 4 years ago. Needless to say, I wanted one. After looking at the options and reading the reviews, I chose this one because so many people said that the tone was really great. One can fix a lot of things in an instrument, but tone is not one of them. It either has it or it doesn't. The tone IS great, but the "snare" sound cannot be distinguished from the bass tone, which makes the bass tone a bit muddy. I would still recommend it, but I would possibly look at some other options, or at least try it in the store before you buy to ensure that you are getting the sound that you want.

Comments about LP Aspire Accents Cajon:

I bought this Cajon based on the reviews I read and they were pretty accurate. Very pleased. Great bottom tone and snare crack, used it for a recording and it sounded a lot like a full set minus cymbals. I guess the only drawback is the snare isn't adjustable.

          THE BOSS

          By RICHARD STUTZ

          from Greenwood, Indiana

Comments about LP Aspire Accents Cajon:

You do not have to spend big money to get a great sound. I played on $300 Cajons and did not get the rich sound that this LP Aspire gave. I like that the snare wires are at the top only. Then the bass is below with no wires for a more pure bass sound. To get the best sound out of the Cajon I would invest in a Cajon Port to insert in the back to bring out a richer sound. This Cajon is well built and works great in big venues and small ones. The snare has a very crisp nice sound. I will buy another when the time comes.
