A great rock drummer's percussion arsenal.
LP collaborates with Nick Mason of Pink Floyd in the release of the LP Nick Mason Classic Rock Pack. This percussion group contains the essentials: a 14-gauge steel rock cowbell, LP Cyclops Jingle Ring, and bass drum cowbell mounting bracket. All are engineered for heavy use and to stay where you set them.
The LP Rock Bell (LP 007) personifies Nick's distinctive cutting but drier sound. The beauty of the Rock Bell, aside from its unique ability to outlast cruel and unusual punishment, is that its pitch, a little lower and without clang, commends it for a good number of rock and pop styles without immediately proclaiming mambo. It mounts the traditional way, on a 6" long, 3/8" wide rod. The rod is knurled to allow crevices that lock the bell in place, with the aid of a generous wing nut assembly. The whole unit stems from a steel bracket, which grabs onto the bass drum hoop and stays there. The "claws" are lined with rubber to prevent gouging of the bass drum hoop.
Also in the Nick Mason pack is an LP Cyclops Jingle Ring with brass jingles (LP 192), which is designed light enough for mounting atop the hi-hat without interfering with pedal action, yet strong enough to take a beating. Weighing in at only seven ounces, the Cyclops unit mounts conveniently to the hi-hat stand center post with a sturdy wing screw.
Capturing a little Pink Floyd, as in the LP Nick Mason Classic Rock Pack (save the packaging all you collectors!), says something
about quality music and its evolution over the decades—not such a bad thing.
