Latin Percussion LPA601 Aspire Oak Bongos with Chrome Hardware have smaller 6-3/4" and 8" natural rawhide heads stretched on shells made from kiln-dried, environmentally friendly Siam oak for a rich, mellow sound. Latin Percussion put Cuban-style steel bottoms and 9/32" tuning lugs on the LPA601 bongos.
Heads - no warranty or guarantee.

Bags and cases - 90 day warranty.
RhythMix - one year warranty, with the exception of heads.
LP wood or fiberglass shells, timbale shells, stands and hardware, hardware (rims, etc.) - 3 year warranty.

I purchased these bongos on a whim and could not be happier. Good construction and great sound when tuned right. I play with both my hands and with sticks and they sound great either way. Very crisp sound and versatility when playing. Highly recommended for someone looking to add to their percussion repertoire.
I recieved these bongos as a Christmas gift (they were on my wishlist). There was a slight defect in one of the skins when I opened the box. I wasn't sure (being a novice) if this would affect the durablity over time. I knew I wouldn't be playing these as much as a pro, and I wanted the heads to last as long as possible(I de-tension the heads after every session). I called up Guitar Center that day and they sent out a new head! I was very pleased with the attentive customer service. The bongos are easy to tune by putting a wrench on each nut on the posts and tightening or loosening until each head is at your prefered sound. The shells are nice and sturdy and look great! They have a great sound. The heads are very neatly cut natural rawhide and fit snuggly in the rim. Its a great set of bongos for the buck!
I got them for free with the Aspire Conga deal in the paper and I am very pleased with the tone of these freebies. I picked up the combo deal to do acoustic sets with my band and for an experienced kit player but novice hand drum player, I couldn't be happier. With the money saved, I put the extra cash into my stage kit.
