LP Aspire Bongos from Latin Percussion represent quality at an economical price. Providing durability and projection, the LP Aspire Fiberglass Bongos have a high gloss finish accented by black LP Aspire EZ Curve Rims and chrome 9/32" tuning lugs. Constructed with smaller 6 3/4" and 8" natural rawhide heads and Cuban style steel bottoms.

  • Not too impressed with the sound quality

    I bought these on a whim just to have a set of bongos to go with my congas, timbales, djembes, etc. I was expecting a better tonal quality from these bongos. They are made well, and there was no problems with the build. But I believe the heads were not very good heads. The sound from these drums was much more 'tin'like or higher pitched then I would have liked. I had to tune them really high to get a sound I actually liked from the heads. Now understand I am not an expert when it comes to judging bongos, this was my first set to own. But over the years I had played atleast 10 - 20 sets and know a what sound I want to hear from bongos. Also its possible the fiberglass build added to the lack of warmth to the tone of these bongos. I suggest spending a little bit more on bongos, and getting something with a more quality head, and possibly made from wood. I will give these 2 stars because they were built solid but sound quality seemed pretty poor. A hollow sound in my opinion.
