Overview

The 30W Kustom KG212FX combo guitar amp boasts a Rhythm channel that offers clear dynamic tones that are perfect for a wide variety of musical styles. Using the Gain control, the Lead channel dishes out anything from chunky classic rock sounds to the heaviest, modern metal tones out there. Separate Bass, Middle, and Treble controls let players fine-tune the KG212FX amp's tonal response as required.

In addition, the KG212FX combo is equipped with built-in reverb, delay, and chorus effects that activate on the Kustom amp's front panel. Reverb can provide anything from subtle room ambiance to an all-out wash of cavernous sound. Delay is perfect for fattening up lead tones, especially when combined with distortion. Chorus adds a shimmering, liquid-like quality to the sound, especially with chords.

Like every Kustom KG amplifier, the KG212FX offers an auxiliary input for plugging in an MP3 or CD player to practice along with tunes and an 1/8" headphone input that silences the internal speaker for late-night playing. Your family and neighbors will love it. An Effects Loop with Send and Return jacks provides flexibility for integrating external effects and processors.

The Kustom KG212FX can be used with a single-function footswitch to switch between Rhythm and Lead channels.

All KG Series amplifiers include a 5-year, transferable electronics warranty to give you extra peace-of-mind with your purchase.

This amp is a great value for the money! I had a Vox AD50VT and I really prefer the tone, features and simplicity of my new KG212FX over the Vox. Don't be fooled by the 30 Watt rating. It has tons of volume due in part to the twin 12" speakers. On both the lead and clean channel it stacks up in my opinion to any 50 watt combo amp (solid state or hybrid) with a single 12" speaker. Turned up to about 1/3 volume I was rattling the pictures on the walls and the ceiling tiles in my basement shortly after I first got it. Via the jack in the rear you can connect an extra speaker without ing the twins in the cabinet. I am anxious to hook up my KSC10M and see how that sounds in conjunction. Additionally, the amp is fairly light weight - it only weighs like 32 lbs. and if you're on the go that means a lot less schlepping for you. The KG212FX is a very sleek, sharp design. The controls and features are very simple and easy to use. The product description mentions "intuitive use of controls" and that is very true. If you have played for a while or are even just starting out, you don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure out how to get the tone, volume and effects that you need. I am very happy with the reverb, chorus, delay and the overall quality of their sounds. The overdrive channel is great and for my purposes, provides more than adequate distortion. She can really scream. I do miss the Auto-Wah feature on my AD50VT though, but I might just get an Electro-Harmonix Q-tron to fit the bill for that purpose. I mainly use an Epiphone Les Paul Custom (filthy with 3 Humbuckers) and a Fender Strat and although each has distinctly different sound characteristics, I can easily make a few simple adjustments to get all of the great tone and volume that I need out of this amplifier.I only have one slight "gripe" about the amp and that is: on the lower notes and chords like particularly playing an F Barre Chord at the first fret, there is an annoying loud vibration emanating from the front panel board around the control knobs. This is strictly a minor mechanical issue and I think that it should be no great difficulty to resolve. Technically, I think they should have caught that at the factory (assuming they tested it of course).I decided to buy a Kustom amp because I have just recently purchased a Kustom PA system and was very delighted at the performance, quality and value for the money provided by the system. The Kustom KG212FX amplifer does not disappoint, it delivers! If you want to spend more for a similar product go ahead that's up to you, but you will not find more bang for your buck out there. I really like the Kustom KG212FX and prefer its tone and ease of use over similar brands and models in this category and range.I hope this review is helpful and I believe that if you purchase this amp, you will be very satisfied with its performance and value. I know I am.

Couldnt wait for this amp to show up and then...:-(. Ok.. a 30 watt twin with effects and a headphone out. I play a modern rock/shred style. This thing had no bass response at all. My little Fender 25R outdid this amp for holding bass tone. Ran a Boss Metal Zone and the Fender sounded better.. lol. The digital reverb was just awful. No other way to say it. Reverb is very important. It can make/break an amp. The on board effects (delay/chorus) made terrible feedback noises when engaged. The chorus was ok, the delay was terrible. The effects loop and head phone out had some type of electrical problem. Could not use either. This will be the last amp that I buy that has any type of on-board effects built in. Simply paying for stuff you dont ever use. Very disappointed in the amp. Its gone.. Sent it back. Outside of the obvious problems with the loop and headphone jack, it was just a garbage amp. Sorry Kustom... will look at the Raven Amps now. They are no frills rock amps...

Suits me very well

Comments about Kustom KG212FX 30W 2x12 Guitar Combo Amp with Digital Effects:

my main guitar is an epiphone 339 pro limited. I play blues, classic rock, country, RB .. I really only noodle with some high gain settings, as metal isn't my speed - The clear channel is fantastic - there is a high and low channel, high channel is louder/more presence -- kustom says 6db .. okay ... I don't know what that means :) (yes, I do, but the number isn't the feel) The lead/gain channel has a decent gain - about like my boss distortion pedal .. today sold as a BD-1, but back then, that is all it was. This is fine with me -- No, it's not the crushing gain of my b52 in lead, turned all the way up .. but that's exactly why I bought this -- to have a stereo practice clean amp in the living room, and not be sent into the studio to play. This isn't a fender or mesa -- its a solid state, clean clean clean amp. With lots more tone and eq response than a peavey. Bottom line? If you like pedals, it will be great - but if you are looking for a nice clean amp, I would recommend it.

Comments about Kustom KG212FX 30W 2x12 Guitar Combo Amp with Digital Effects:

Look. I saw some of the reviews and thought what do you expect for the money. I own a Marshall and a Johnson Stack. Also have plenty of out board gear from stomps to DSP's. Bottom line, if you are looking for a very basic amp than this will suffice. Line 6 and Behringer have some nice amps that do it all for a bit more money. I wanted a stripped down portable amp so if I wanted to go somewhere with it I didn't have to drag the big rigs. On board affects are pretty plain and basic. The delay is weak and the chorus is as well. However it has a send return and my outboard gear makes it good. I have a Parker and some acoustics that I wanted a second amp for. This really is great for that. It is a very clean and quite amp that is loud enough to jamb with. Like the head phone and aux as well. Only down fall is it would be better with 1/4" plugs instead of the mini's. I agree with some of the reviews as related to the dirty channel. Don't expect much without the aid of some gear. Then again for the price I wouldn't have expected much.

False advertising!

Cons

Comments about Kustom KG212FX 30W 2x12 Guitar Combo Amp with Digital Effects:

Bottom line, this thing can sound half way ok turned loud, and has a surprisingly good clean channel. But what everyone usually wants is a good dirty gain, and it's not here, period. Maybe if you want Billy Squire's level of gain, which stinks when you want some dirty metal. It's totally weak, and the affects are the worst I've ever heard on board an amp. I watched an online demo I found because I was skeptical after reading some reviews. The demo was great, and also TOTALLY misleading. It made this thing sound awesome in the dirty mode. I mean totally dirty heavy metal with awesome gain. Well, it was totaly false advertising is what! It must have had a metal peddle out of the viewers site. The gain is garble and worthless if you are expecting Sabbath or anything heavy. I gave it 2 stars only because the clean channel is pretty good and very clear.

for the price this amp can't be beat. Crisp clear tone. I use this at home for practice with an ES-335 and my acoustic 12-string but could easily be used for small venues. The chorus effect when used with reverb gives a tone comparable to a much more expensive amp. I set the volume at 3 but could easily rock the house, you won't be disappointed.

        Nice amp

Comments about Kustom KG212FX 30W 2x12 Guitar Combo Amp with Digital Effects:

The only thing I found I don't really like is the fact that both channels share an EQ. It's not a really big deal though. It definitely is not worth worrying over.
Definitely sounds better than an amp at this price. The clean is very clear, plenty of headroom, and the distortion channel is perfect for everything from a little bluesy to screaming modern rock. It doesn't mention it in the specs on here, but it does mention in the owner's manual that a dual footswitch will not only change channels, but the 2nd switch activates a "boost" to the output volume that is perfect for doing a solo or any other time you need just a little bit of extra volume. It works extremely well and I plan on getting another one of these and slaving them together, possibly getting rid of the 100+ pound halfstack. It sounds great, is very light, and seems to be dependable.
Pretty well flawless. The grille cloth is straight, fit and finish are superb.
This amp at this price? It can't be beat as far as the sound & clarity. I haven't had it wide open yet, but so far it is awesome.

For a 30watt/twin 12/solid state amp,I consider it to be a preety good deal! The clean channel is very good, and the reverb works well also. Some may talk trash about this amp,but the bottom line is, to plug in Your guitar and give it a try..you can't go wrong with a 5 year warr too! I own several amps and this ones my least expensive. Its been dropped, fell off a amp stand, drinks poured on it..I have never had any problems with it! I do not care what others say about this Kustom KG212FX..I would buy it again!

Comments about Kustom KG212FX 30W 2x12 Guitar Combo Amp with Digital Effects:

The amp looks great. Now for the negs buzzy distortion, no low end, ice pick highs, forget about the effects. Worthless and useless. worst digital reverb I heard on an amp. Sounds like someone banging on pots and pans in a cave. Clean channel was ok. I swapped out the cheapo speakers with some Celestion Greenbacks from another cab I own. Major improvement but not worth the extra $250.00 to upgrade. The amp is going back and thank god! At this price point I would get the new Mustang II or the Marshall MG30 which stomps this amp in terms of solid state tone.

Comments about Kustom KG212FX 30W 2x12 Guitar Combo Amp with Digital Effects:

Just picked one of these up & I love this little 2x12 combo...flat out. I gave it 4 for features, because with 2 channels sharing an EQ and some passable digital effects...it's not like it's loaded with infinite options to tweak. Also 4 for quality, just because it doesn't have that ultra-solid tank-like feel that the old Peaveys & Crates had. I don't really envision this amp being resold ebay 20-30+yrs from now. But it doesn't feel totally cheap & disposable either. The distortion is rather on the "cold" side...kind of old school solid state Ampeg like in a way. A bit heavy in the nasaly midrange if your not careful. For me it's the clean channel. It's not gonna win over the warm tube tone enthusiast...but it is great for pedals. That's where I see this combo excelling, with some good distortion pedals & maybe a graphic EQ to bump the lead tones. Effects loop & extension speaker ouput are very cool too! Top value for the $.
