The Rev Jr. amp head boasts an all tube dual channel head (two 5881s, three 12AX7s) with boost switch and a tube-driven active effects loop that gives even the most discerning tube amp enthusiasts an array of tones ranging from clean to high gain.
Krank Amplifiers have been a driving force in the popularization of lower wattage micro stacks with the introduction of the Rev Jr., the 20W version of the monster Rev Series 1 head and cabs and the first in the line of the Jr. Series of small amps.

I tried one of these out and it sounds terrible. Clean chanel is very flat and has no bottom end or definition. The dirty side is very sterile in a solid state sort of way. The only way to get the amp to sound any good is to blast the volume. Its a shame I really wanted to like it,but I see now why they are out of business
I bought this amp and then returned it, because I really could not get a good sound that I liked out of it. It is very dry sounding (I have heard this of their larger REV series amps as well) and does not sustain very well. I tried a few pedals with it as well and just was not impressed. The gain was O.K., but not spectacular. It was well built, and it did live up to the name Krank, for 20 watts it was loud, but for this price range I think the Spider Valve 112 is much more versatile and has a way better sound. Definetly try it before you buy.
