This pedal is one of the best out there. It maintains the guitar's original tone. I use a Fender American Standard Strat and a Hot Rod DeVille, and it sounds just like the Fender tone. It's very versatile, don't be fooled because it's for "Metal" because it isn't. When I play with the guitar's volume around 5, it sounds like a clean cranked up, very nice, even with the pedal's gain at 10. The EQ is very sensitive so you won't have any trouble finding your sound. I can even get a John Mayer sound from this pedal! When I use it with all the gain, it's a flamethrower with beautiful sound! You can feel and hear every note you play clearly!! Get this pedal, you won't regret it!
I bought this distortion pedal quite some time ago looking for something durable that will last me a long time. I saw The price and hoped it would be worth it. A good friend recommended the 'Krankshaft' or this pedal to spice up my amp's distortion (small Fender Frontman 15g somewhat old). I ordered it at the store and it was on back order so it took a LONG time, But i finally got it and it was worth it all. After plugging in my B.C. Rich warlock with EMG 81-85, it was amazing. It has great distortion for many types of rock music. I highly recommend this pedal.
This pedal is outstanding!! Despite some bad reviews out there, I decided to buy it anyway and see for myself. I play this through my Marshall MG100FX head and MG cab. This pedal brings over the top metal distortion through my amp. The nice thing about it, is that, the pedal sounds like the amp's natural distortion, unlike some of the BOSS distortions that can have that artificial digital sound. This pedal is definitely worth every penny!! It's got a great beefy, chunky chug to it and it definitely KRANK'S!!! Don't go by the guitar world youtube review's either, they make this pedal sound like an overdrive pedal and don't do this thing any justice whatsoever. You will not be disappointed. You can most definitely get a Dimebag Darrell sound out of it from his Damageplan day's but has a beefier, chunkier and heavier tone than the Dime distortion MXR, which I also own. CHECK IT OUT!!!
