Teaching is the lifeblood of music. Most great musicians will point to an early mentor as being elemental in their development. Korg has developed a teaching system that uses the Korg GEC5 as its chief hub. It is available in a wide variety of configurations, one of which is sure to meet the need of your particular classroom. These packages include the GEC5, GEC5 student interfaces, keyboard instruments, headphones, monitoring and internal cabling for hooking the system up and installing it into your teaching environment. A CAT5 Ethernet cable is required as well, but is sold separately.
The Korg Group Education Controller 5 (GEC5) represents the most advanced system in group instruction technology. With an intuitive, easy-to-use software user interface, multiple practice and instruction modes, fully-digital stereo sound and the option of wireless tablet integration - the Korg GEC5 Lab System will take any music, language or technology lab to a new level of high efficiency and create a superior classroom experience. The advanced, yet easy-to-use audio routing on the GEC5 is compatible with any digital audio signal, so get creative and build a room with any combination of electronic instruments including digital pianos, guitars, synthesizers, even MIDI-controlled software instruments.
This is the student interface of the GEC5 system. There are three main modes of operation, each of which can be selected within the software interface at the teacher’s station. Lecture Mode is used to present material in a lecture format. All students hear the teacher’s microphone and instrument, allowing for a captive and quiet audience. Practice Mode is used when the students are working independently (each student hears only his or her own instrument or computer). Group Mode is used when students are working together in groups (two or more student workstations in any conceivable configuration). Each student in a group can hear his or her own instrument as well as the instruments or computer and microphone of the other members of their group.
Compact and cost-effective, the KORG B1 Digital Piano delivers the key features most important to any pianist: an authentic keyboard touch, superior sound, and ease of use. To achieve the deep, rich tones of an acoustic piano within its compact body, the B1 Digital Piano relies on KORG’s servo-assisted MFB technology, a pair of full-range speakers, plus a passive radiator. The B1 Digital Piano is equipped with KORG’s Natural Weighted Hammer keyboard action. This Natural Weighting provides a heavier touch in the lower registers, transitioning to a lighter touch in the upper regions—just as on a traditional piano.
The BX5 Carbon studio monitor helps you track, monitor, and mix with confidence by providing accurate sound and dynamic acoustic control. Equipped with a 5" woven Kevlar low-frequency driver and 1" natural silk dome tweeter, the BX5 Carbon delivers a flat frequency response, enhanced stereo imaging, and increased clarity for authentic mixing in a space-saving design. The bi-amplified 70 Watt Class A/B amplification means high power with less noise and ensures that your monitoring setup can handle today's modern music with ease. With the BX5 Carbon, your music is ready for any listening environment.
