This is the Best thing to have for ANY GUITARISTS: whether you play acoustic guitar or bass & or regular electric guitar or bass guitar because it keeps you HIGHLY MOTIVATED vs. using only a metronome when you are alone practicing your guitar because although metronomes themselves are EXTREMELY Crucial & a Must have for any musician, this mixes things up a bit when you a bored or lacking motivation! It's great for making your own Drum beats for Drummers & other band mates to use those made beats to practice with when they are not with their drummer at a band practice, etc. NOW DON't Expect a $3,000 plus msrp dollar value drum / rhythm machine, BUT DO NOTE THAT THIS THING BEATS THE HELL OUT OF ALL THOSE OLD ZOOM G2 PEDALS DRUM BEATS & 99.9%-100% OF ALL DIGITECH'S RP PEDALS' DRUM BEATS BUILT IN TO THEIR PEDALS AS WELL! i LOVE THE IN & OUT OPTION THAT YOU CAN USE IF YOU KNOW YOUR CABLES & CAN BLASTS DRUM BEATS THROUGH YOUR OWN PRACTICE P.A. OR BAND'S P.A. SYSTEM AS WELL AS USE IT TO MAKE SOME DIGITAL BEATS TOO IF YOU ARE SOMEWHAT KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT AUDIO ENGINEERING (LIKE 101 EASY STUFF)& YOU'VE GOT ENDLESS POSSIBILITIES FOR THE MOST PART THAT SOUND AS REAL AS YOU CAN GET FOR ANY DRUM / RHYTHM MACHINE WITHIN THIS PRICE RANGE & IT'S SO MUCH BETTER THAN MANY OTHER PEDAL BRANDS THAT I'VE MENTIONED ABOVE & MORE! ABSOLUTELY GREAT PURCHASE & HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL GUITARISTS OF ALL LEVELS WHO NEED A LITTLE MOTIVATION BROUGHT BACK INTO THEIR LIVES TO KEEP PLAYING & ROCKING OUT TO & IT REALLY IS SUITABLE FOR JUST ABOUT EVERY GENRE OUT THERE & IS THE BEST FOR ANYONE ON A TIGHT BUDGET! I AM IMPRESSED FOR WHAT I GOT FOR THE $ & I'D REPLACE THIS IN A HEART BEAT IF IT GOT LOST, BROKEN, OR STOLEN! EVEN THOUGH THIS KORG MINI KR MIGHT NOT GET YOU A DRUM MACHINE'S SOUND THAT'S HD LIKE WITH MSRPS(IN THE THOUSANDS OF DOLLAR RANGE), IT BEATS JUST ABOUT ANYTHING ON THE MARKET IN IT'S PRICE RANGE & is extremely close if not to HD sounding IMO compared to other stuff on the market! GO IN & TRY ONE YOURSELF OR JUST BUY ONE & I WILL GUARENTEE YOU THAT OVER AT LEAST 85+% OF YOU WON'T BE DISAPOINTED IN THIS LITTLE KORG MINI KR DRUM / RHYTHM / BEATS MACHINE THAT HAS A BUILT IN METRONOME OPTION ALSO! GREAT PRODUCT! 5/5 STARS & BEST BANG FOR YOUR $ OR BUDGET AS WELL!

Not bad

Comments about Korg KRmini Compact Rhythm Machine:

Seems like a good basic unit. Most of the beats are aimed at pop and rock stuff as you might expect. Sounds pretty decent for the price. A bit complicated to use but that's just my take as a first-time drum machine buyer with little else to compare to.

Comments about Korg KRmini Compact Rhythm Machine:

I wanted a pedal for some basic rhythms to add to my acoustic act. This does a nice job with an additional pedal (separate purchase) to start and stop. These are decent sounding drum samples when plugged into a pa system. You are not going to fool anyone into thinking it's a real drummer, but it does the job. The good, Easy to turn on and use, good functions, inexpensive. The bad, "only" decent sounds, poorly written instruction manual.

purely for home use. don't believe the hype. If playing live, you would have to fiddle with the tempo knob and still not know if it is the correct beat.

Comments about Korg KRmini Compact Rhythm Machine:

As a teacher/coach I need more time signatures, all the 3's, 9/8, 12/8 etc. ad nauseum. This gadget doesn't have them.
I'm a little too busy to program my own patterns, but the generic ones work for rhythm behind a student doing basic 4/4 Pop music - better than a metronome. Do flute duets to drums: fun!
The instruction manual, particularly online pdf, could be much more precise in terms of real rhythm patterns. If you're only doing Pop music, it'll help.

Comments about Korg KRmini Compact Rhythm Machine:

While the sound of this unit isn't great, the fact that it has no way of setting a specific tempo is a deal breaker. If all my other gear is running at 120 bpm, there's no way to accurately get this unit there, other than guessing.

The other thing I hate about this unit is having to press multiple buttons to change features, or having to go through a complex sequence of steps. They've made this thing much too difficult to use, just add a few more buttons and mark them clearly.

This thing is so poorly designed it's doubtful the people who made it actually use it.

Comments about Korg KRmini Compact Rhythm Machine:

This unit is easy to use, straight forward, has punch, affordable, and has good realistic drum sound. Was expecting to get some crummy lo-fi drum sound but it holds its own against my amp and sounds really good when played back from a recording. I love that I can easily build my own patter of beats to make a song just right, and manually play my own drum beat and record it to the unit. It's an easy "learn by doing" machine but after reading the manual I have found it has more features that aren't obvious at first. Highly Recommend to anyone looking to play with a drummer that doesn't have a drummer or just a better alternative to a metronome.
