  • Next time I will spend more money

As reviewed by stephen peiffer on 12/12/2013

I am not crazy about what I purchased, but for $30 I guess I was expecting too much. It is inexpensive and upon receiving it, I could definitely tell. It is alright for the time being, but I will probably spend at least $100 next time to get something much more substantial.

  • Couldn't Tune

As reviewed by Hannah on 6/2/2015

Impossible to tune, and one of the tuning knobs refuses to turn.

  • Decent Uke for inexpensive price

As reviewed by Anthony on 8/25/2014

While this is a uke you don't want to play Carnegie Hall with, for learning and little hands it's great. Yes one of the reviewers complained about tuning, but you have to tune to the key you are playing in. If you use a tuner, it is most likely calibrated to even temperament, so all the notes across the chromatic scale are equally out of tune. You have to the same notes across the strings to get a good sound and then sometimes you have to split the difference about notes being out of tune, to fit all the chords you are playing. And this uke is "inexpensive" so the calibration of the frets is not going to be what you'd get from a more expensive instrument, but given that it still plays well, and is fun to learn on. My students can attest to that. The timbre and resonance is dry and flat but it's sound is not annoying. Again, for starters this little uke is more than adequate.
