Knilling was founded in 1922 by Bernard Kornblum, a young man who both played and loved the violin. Bernard immigrated to the United States from Vienna in 1919. Out of his desire to remain close to music, he began importing European instruments to America, thus beginning the Knilling story. The ideals which guide Knilling today descend directly from Bernard's passion for music and his devotion to the violin.
