TonePros KF6B are designed for the 6-in-line format. These tuners are designed with classic features but with performance in mind. F6B Series tuners pay critical attention to the all-important winding height, which is necessary for the split/top load design of yesteryear's 6 on
a side tuners. F6B features the same high-performance machine gears of the other B Series tuners, including the extremely tight, 15:1 high gear ratio. Special clipped 7 screw set based plates are included for classic vintage appearance, and classic matching finish metal buttons
are standard for this model. Retrofit your vintage guitar with no modification.

I am extremely impressed with these tuners. I purchased them to upgrade the cheap, sloppy feeling stock vintage-style tuners on my sunburst Squier Classic Vibe Telecaster Custom. They were a perfect fit on this guitar, which, even though built in a Chinese factory, follows Fender?s original vintage dimensions very accurately. I was impressed first by the quality. The tuner housings are milled of solid metal, not stamped metal like the originals. The finish is perfect and they look great. The posts sit solidly in the tuner body and do not wobble or slip. They installed easily into the existing tuner holes and the screws lined up perfectly. Each turn of the tuning pegs feels tight and secure, and the high gear ratio makes for precise and easy tuning. With the old tuners, when I stretched a string I could feel the tuner slipping backwards; these Tone Pros made Klusons do not slip. With fully stretched strings, they hold the tuning for days. I?ve tried all kinds of tuners on Fender style guitars, including locking tuners. There is something that just feels ?right? with the original vintage Kluson design. These are among the best versions you can buy and well worth the price. These would be a worthy upgrade for any vintage style Fender with inexpensive stamped tuners.
I ordered an aftermarket neck for a strat project. I hadn't decided on tuners, so I left the holes small. I new what I wanted in a tuner, when I found these I knew they were it. Features: o Center hole in peg. There are a few tricks to get the high E and B string to work consistently, but once you learn them, you'll love these tuners. What you get with this is a very clean look, precise tuning and NO more poked fingers! o Screw in collars. This went beyond my expectations. I like the fact that not only are the tuners screwed on from the back, the screw in collars clamps them to the neck. This makes these tuners the best I've owned so far. Quality and Reliability: o The backs are made by a process called precision or investment casting. This process is used for parts that either will be finish machined later or are not high precision parts in the fist place. In either case the are VERY consistent with minimal variation. I did not dissect them as to see the internal parts, but as smooth and consistent as they are, I can only surmise they are machined steel gears. o I've only owned them for a few months, but I am NOT disappointed. I foresee a long service life. Look and Feel: o They look as good as they work. Very smooth and precise. Not much more to be said. o I will be buying more for my other 2 strats.
I had to take my guitar to my guitar tech as the existing holes for the machine heads were too small and the existing screw holes on were too large. That being said, this was a tremendous upgrade for my guitar. It now stays in tune.
Great tuners, However they are NOT a direct retrofit for a vintage guitar. I have a 59 neck that had slightly LARGER holes and bought these tuners because of the bolt bushing to tighten up the fit. Even with the slightly larger holes I had to ream the holes to make it fit.. Repeat, NOT a direct retrofit. Otherwise a nice item Bruce
