If you're playing your keyboard in a live environment, there's no way around it, you need a quality amplifier and monitor to help make sure everyone can hear you. Whether you're playing on your own or as part of a band, these invaluable tools will help make your notes don't get lost in the mix. Before picking the perfect amplifier and monitor for your setup, it's important to understand the differences between the two. Both will produce sound, but their roles on the stage are actually quite different. An amp will produce sound with the audience in mind, giving them the full effect of your performance. A monitor will produce sound with the artist in mind, allowing you to hear your performance clearly and make any necessary adjustments with ease.
