Every feature of the Kentucky KM-505 Mandolin was specifically chosen to meet, not only the demands of the beginning player, but also the demanding requirements of working professionals. Fine solid spruce and solid flamed maple are hand-selected at this level to assure that this mandolin looks as good as it sounds.
Long time guitar player, wanting to learn mandolin for some timbral diversity on my next recordings. Unfortunately, the first time I tuned the instrument up to pitch the upper piece of the adjustable bridge cracked 3/4 of the way through and collapsed. I'm still waiting to see if and how M/F will resolve the problem (I've asked them to send me a replacement bridge). Otherwise, seems like a decent instrument.
