Keith McMillen Instruments Batt-O-Meter Battery Tester (584403)
Availability:

Shows the hours of life remaining on your stomboxes and active pickups without removing the battery.

Plug the Batt-O-Meter Battery Tester into virtually any battery-operated device with a 1/4" jack input and find out if and when to change its battery. Stop wasting time and money; don't guess when to change batteries; know with the Batt-O-Meter.

The Batt-O-Meter Battery Tester looks inside your active pickup instruments and 9-volt devices to measure voltage and remaining hours of use. Fast, accurate, and easy to use, the Batt-O-Meter: saves you from risk and stress of dead batteries before a performance. You'll also save money by extending the life of each battery, and save time by checking battery life before taking things apart. Feel better knowing that you're helping the environment by discarding fewer batteries.

The Keith McMillen Instruments' Batt-O-Meter also checks hard-to-reach batteries by plugging into the 1/4" input found on most guitars, basses and effects pedals.

Use the Batt-O-Meter battery tester to quickly and accurately measure how many volts a battery is delivering, the number of hours left before the power runs out, and the remaining life in any 1.5-volt or 9-volt battery. Just plug the gold-plated Power Probe into the 1/4" input on most instruments and effects pedals to test the life remaining in hard-to-reach batteries.

Test more battery types with increased precision with the Batt-O-Meter's convenient slide switch that differentiates between alkaline, rechargeable, and carbon zinc batteries. The right-angle, 1/4" jack can check a hard-to-reach battery still inside your equipment.

And, yes, Mr. Smarty Pants, the Batt-O-Meter performs a self-test of its internal battery and displays the percentage of battery life left.

  • Top Notch

As reviewed by Bruce Smith on 5/23/2010

Unlike the other individual, I find this unit to do the job, and do it well. One caveat, with some of my instruments you have to push and hold the plug in, and with others (Most of them) you can simply "Plug and Play". This unit does all it claims (but it won't hold your hand during the testing) so... I have two of them and carry one in a gig bag as well as one in my tool bag. Outstanding execution of a most needed ides.

  • Very cool

As reviewed by George on 3/3/2011

I got this to test the batteries in my active basses and effects pedals. It works as advertised (yes, on one bass it didn't work, so i take out the battery and test it on the side. My guitar player used it on his BOSS pedals and it worked on every one of them. We found that for most part, batteries seem to last longer than we thought, so we're not changing batteries as often as we use to, so I guess we've already made our money back by not tossing out good batteries.

  • Doesn't work on any of my guitars

As reviewed by Jack on 5/16/2010

I bought this product because it's advertised to chech batteries in instruments that activate when you plug in 1/4". I have six guitars that operate that way and was really excited thinking this would save me the time of having to pull the batteries out of guitars to check. I was already doing that with a battery tester. Imagine my total disappointment when it did not work on either one. I emailed the company but have yet to get a response. It works okay to test batteries manually but that's not what I needed. Totally disappointed and sorry I bought this thing. I think their advertising is misleading
