Voted 2004 Guitar Player Magazine's Editor's Pick Award.

Keeley's most popular pedal, the Keeley compressor has become an industry standard for stomp box compression. The sound will inspire, and your music will flow freely-just plug the compressor pedal in and let your head, heart, and fingers fly. The sound quality of the Keeley compressor is rarely heard in the stompbox arena and is only seen in very expensive rackmount or tube equipment.

It is a true audiophile and studio-grade compressor, with exotic rackmount-quality in a stomp box. The Keeley compressor pedal ships with the 9V DC jack at the top end of the guitar pedal and use the same type of power supply used by nearly all guitar effect manufacturers.

Internal Attack Control
The compressor pedal has an Internal Attack control, designed for bass players with high-output active pickups or active pedal boards with buffers.

Sensitivity Control
The Keeley compressor pedal also has an Input Sensitivity Control, meaning you can use this in your studio to run keyboards, drum machines, drum mics, even master recordings and other line-level uses. You'll raise your signal to a new level of sonic awesomeness.

True bypass switching circuit
True bypass means that when the effect is off your guitar tone will not be affected at all. The true bypass circuit makes sure you have absolutely no tone loss or signal reduction through the compressor pedal in the off/bypass mode.

Triple-pole double-throw switch
This switch makes sure you have absolutely no tone loss or signal reduction through the Keeley 4-knob compressor even in the off mode. Other compressors use a cheap switch and design that runs down your signal even when off or if the battery goes weak.

The Sustain Control
The 9 O'clock position should be barely noticeable. It will just take out really loud sudden peaks, this is great for protecting your speakers and the like. The 12 O'clock position provides the right presence for using the Keeley compressor pedal continuously while performing. The 3 O'clock position is great for solos. It really adds some cool effects to your playing dynamics. Only when really cranked do you get the pluck sound of your pick emphasized.

Tone-tested components
The Keeley compressor effect has nothing but tone-tested components and has true bypass switching. Effect switching incorporates a triple pole-double throw switch. You will have clean unaffected sound when in the bypass mode, with an LED for effect indication. Metal film resistors and capacitors ensure the cleanest compressor on the market. Hand matched transistors to less than 1% tolerance ensure you get a perfectly compressed signal, no chance for unwanted distortions. For those wanting a better tone than that of Trey Anastasio from Phish or David Gilmore of Pink Floyd or the Edge of U2 this is it.

Power supply
The DC jack is the standard type fitting just about every power supply out there. The Voodoo Labs Pedal Power, MXR DC Brick, Boss, Ibanez, etc. power supplies work perfectly with the compressor

Keeley's compressors are completely hand built and tested to ensure that there are no failures. The guitar pedal is "semi-abused" to make sure there is nothing but bliss when you install your new compressor. Since each compressor pedal is hand made there might be small differences as improvements are made. Every attempt is made to make sure your Keeley pedal looks perfect and sounds better than you imagined.

  • Amazing Guitar Pedal

As reviewed by Mark N. on 5/27/2010

A noiseless pedal that beats all other compressor pedals out. I was amazed at how the pedal wouldn't generate any noise unlike most other compressor pedals. Sound quality from the pedal is unbelievably great. The pedal is built like a tank so it's very durable. And on top of all of that, it is also very easy to use.

  • Best Stomp Box Compressor

As reviewed by Mark on 11/6/2010

Over the years I have grown particularly picky and demanding regarding the musical equipment that I invest my hard-earned money in. My electric guitar rig is no exception. One of the most annoying aspects of an effect unit or stomp box is noise. I bought this Keeley 4 knob compressor for what it does not do and that is elevate the noise floor on my pedal board. I bought this unit to replace my modded Boss CS-3 Compressor/Sustainer which sounded great but was just too noisey to use in the studio. Robert Keeley is one of the best at his profession. His mods and products are alway above a certain standard for use by professional musicians. This compressor is a must have for any guitarist regardless of the musical genre played. This little unit gives an energized sparkle and boost to your amp channles both clean and over-driven. The sustain knob does a really nice job of creating those smooth and everlasting lead notes and all without a bunch of hiss. This thing is always in the active position on my floor rig and I could not not get "my sound" without it. The Attack and Clipping knobs do a wonderful job of smoothing and refining your playing technique. The bottom line is that this is the best stomp box compressor on the market. It has a small footprint, is built for heavy road use and is easy and intuitive to use. As long as I am alive and playing I will have this little gem on my rig.

  • Nice

I was in the middle about whether of not I needed to get a compressor in my pedal board line-up... I was old school in thinking that technique was all you needed and that compression was not needed. After trying my friend Keeley pedal I started thinking that I need one... I tried several pedals and this by far was the best. I keep it on most of the time to smooth out my tone, I am in a three piece and play rhythm and do a lot of fills in between chords and this compression helps out a lot...
