This rug has developed folds running top to bottom next to the bass drum pad that never flatten out (you can see them in the picture). These folds are extremely annoying, as they happen to be exactly where one of my snare stands' legs sits, which puts it up on an angle. As far as keeping stuff in place, I suppose it does do that very well, but the folds are extremely frustrating.

Comments about Kaces KCP-5 Crash Pad Drum Rug:

The Crash Pad drum rug does a good job of holding drums in place. It is made of a cheap material so it does look worn pretty quickly and does develop folds that are annoying. But I can live with these issues. The main complaint I have is the that covered wood barrier is covered in the same material as the rug. I have tripped over this hump many times....you see a rug and never expect to find a wood "bump" in it. This past weekend I had taken my drums off the rug to pack up. The keyboard player was on a riser, jumped off onto the rug only to hit the wood block. He broke his foot in a severe manner and now the band cannot play for a few months until he heals. I immediately went home and painted the wood block cover bright red and will put stripes on it to warn people of it's location. Kaces should cover the wood block in another color...it is very dangerous...and now costly as we are giving up some high paying job due to our keyboard player being unable to walk.

Pretty Weak

By

Comments about Kaces KCP-5 Crash Pad Drum Rug:

This rug seems ok at a glance but it doesn't keep the kit in place. My drummer has a HEAVY kick foot, and after one day of rehearsing the kit is practically on the other side of the room! Other buyers talked about the creases, they're a little annoying but not that bad. Its is very lightweight and gig friendly for hauling... But it doesn't get the job done!

Good idea but doesn't work great.

By

Comments about Kaces KCP-5 Crash Pad Drum Rug:

This rug looks like a great product. Lightweight and it folds up easily so you can tote it around. The problem is the material they used for the rug. It's too thin and it stretches and tries to retain all of the folds if you fold it up and move it around a lot. The material is just too light for a drum rug. When I went to set up my kit at a gig, I found myself stretching the rug into place while I was setting everything up. Very annoying. If you don't get it placed properly during setup, things will move while you're playing. For a one-time rug that stays in your home it may be suitable but not for gigging out. I replaced this with 5x7 $20 rug and although it takes up more space in my load-out, I'm much happier with it.

Awesome!!!!

Comments about Kaces KCP-5 Crash Pad Drum Rug:

This is an awesome drum rug. I know some of the other reviews say that the creases get in the way or get annoying but I experienced none of that. The creases were still a little visible, but I could set up my kit with no problem. Everything stays perfectly in place. The bass drum block keeps the bass drum from moving, and my hihats stay in place even without a block. I'm even considering buying a second one over lapping the two so I can use my double bass set up. Highly Recommended, and the cheapest one at guitarcenter too.

My best investment

By

from Moweaqua, IL

Comments about Kaces KCP-5 Crash Pad Drum Rug:

This drum rug has been, I think, one of the best investments in my drumming accessories. It keeps my drums in place and looks good doing it. Before I had this rug, my bass drum would always slide. This rug stopped that. My only complaint is that it really isn't big enough for a bigger drum set with lots of cymbals and toms. It works great for my 4-piece though.
