KRK's Rokit G2 (Generation 2) powered studio monitor is designed to give amazing performance and accuracy for the home or project studio. The G2 Rokit studio monitor has radically curved edges which virtually eliminate diffraction and provides a wider sweet spot. The Rokit G2 monitor also features a great looking cabinet with a front-firing bass port and KRK's trademark yellow glass-aramid composite woofer and soft-domed tweeters. Dual high-power amplifiers in each speaker and active crossovers provide smooth and accurate reproduction. The Rokit monitor has the most accurate response curve in its class ensuring that you hear all of the details in your mix.
The KRK RokitG2 Series takes value-priced monitors to a new performance level. All of the great stuff that Rokit monitors have been known for (front-firing bass port, soft-domed tweeter, glass-aramid composite yellow cone) are still there, but the G2 Rokit's feature refined voicing and a new curved baffle that looks great, reduces diffraction and provides even better monitoring accuracy.
Welcome to the all new Generation 2 RoKit Powered
Studio Monitor Series from KRK Systems. For years the Rokit series has been a popular choice for accurate monitoring in studios large and small. Now the all new Generation 2 Rokit monitor provides a new standard for even better performance and accuracy, raising the bar once again.
No Pain With Gain
Why compromise gain structure to achieve a comfortable listening level? As musicians and recording people themselves, KRK asked that question too. So each Generation 2 Rokit monitor comes with an Input Volume Control that provides an adjustable gain range from +6dB to -30dB. Just another way Rokit lets you focus on your mix, and not on compatibility concerns.
Catch A Wave, For A 3D Mix
Recessed tweeters may look the same, but they don't perform the same. KRK has designed a superior tweeter wave guide for the Rokit that provides optimal high frequency pattern control and focuses the sound outward, away from the cabinet. More conventional designs direct sound along the plane of the cabinet where waveform interaction can cause phase problems and increased diffraction. KRK knows a properly engineered high frequency wave guide is a critical component to great sound, and one key to KRK's award winning performance.
You've Got Connections
At KRK, the focus is your mix. But it doesn't stop at creating accurate monitors. KRK appreciates the need for monitors that not only sound great but work easily into your particular set up. That's why you'll find plenty of input options with your Rokit, sure to accommodate any studio environment. So if it's RCA, quarter-Inch (balanced/unbalanced) or XLR inputs you require, Rockit has got you covered.
Even More Accurate Than Before
KRK took a great monitor series and made it better. KRK's engineers and listening panel took the Generation 2 Rokit's speaker voicing to even more accurate levels. What you hear is what you are intended to hear, coloration is not part of the spec. This performance is brought to you by drivers that are custom-designed by KRK's world-class studio monitor engineering team, for clear, low-distortion performance.
While your Generation 2 Rokit leaves the factory voiced to demanding specs, KRK also knows that no two rooms "sound" the same. As such, each Rokit comes equipped with a High Frequency Level Control. This feature provides specific adjustment of high frequency output most commonly affected by room acoustics. It's just one extra level of control that KRK gives you to ensure the most accurate mix for your particular room's acoustics.
Don't Be Square, Curves Ahead
The new Rockit monitor looks different, so it can sound better, and in a wider "sweet spot". Traditional rectangular speakers suffer from diffraction as sounds leaving the edge of the cabinet are reflected back into the original sound field, and at different time intervals. This phase distortion creates a "narrow" or boxy" sound. The Generation 2 Rokit monitor series eliminates this issue with radically engineered curved surfaces,
so diffraction is virtually eliminated. Simply put, you'll get better sound in a wider area.
Let's Be Up Front
Take a look at competitive monitors and you'll find ports on the back of the cabinet. These rear-firing ports tend create bass coupling with walls and corners amplifying low frequency information which will color your mix. The superior design of the KRK Generation 2 Rokit monitors include front-firing ports, which are just the right shape and taper to reduce port turbulence. You'll appreciate the clean and accurate bass performance, this approach delivers, even at high SPLs.
A great sounding monitor doesn't stop with a great cabinet and custom drivers. KRK's true bi-amplified amplifier system provides discrete low-distortion power for each driver. While the active crossover systems provide smooth and accurate frequency response, and again, accurate diffraction control.
Note: Monitors are sold as singles.

These things sound incredible. It colors your mixes so it sounds great on all sorts of speakers. They also sound great at low and high volumes, no sound degradation. Build quality feels solid, I am very impressed. I feel like these are going to last a long time. And they look awesome. The yellow cones are a real eye candy for anyone that walks into my studio, they really stand out.
I had had Yorkville YSM2's and needed a little more truth and thump being they had 5" drivers. I went to Roseville MI which is 30 minutes away from me here in Canada and was helped by Ryan in Roseville. First I bought the KRK Gen2 8's and was very happy as they're more true, louder, and heavy duty than my previous mon's. For my smaller/tight home studio space they're MORE than enough to satisfy my needs for power and volume as well. About a month later, i thought "hmmm, what would it be like if I had even a lil' MORE bass for using 808 or 909 bass drums in some of my rock mixes?" I then got in the car, back to Ryan in Michigan and then back home with the KRK 10s Powered Sub Woofer with an on/off pedal to add a little more thump IF needed. This was more of a luxury to spoil myself, but wow what fun when I have friends over etc. I certainly don't mix with the sub, but after everything IS mixed it kicks it up a notch if those frequencies are used. To conclude, i'm very happy for the $1000-ish dough i've spent and the service was fantastic so i'll be back definitely!
Everything that can be said about the KRK Rokit 8 g2 has already been spelled out in the previous 16 reviews. I had a great chance to review a friends demo's through his Rokit 8's and knew they were going to be my choice. Plus the guys in the 16 reviews here helped too. I just want to thank Mark @ the guitar center Eugene for hooking me up with such a great deal. My pair are just as great as described in the ad. Don't take my word for it.Drop by your nearest GC when you're ready for Nearfield monitors and listen through a pair of the 8's. You'll see what all the hype is about. Thanks Guitar Center.
I love em. I bought a pair after returning the M-Audio AV 40's, because they were good, but didn't give me the DEEPER bass sound that I was looking for because the woofers were only 4"... So that when I decided I wanted to check out something bigger and I read the reviews here about these monitors and I grabbed a pair and I simply love them.. REAL TALK...
Went in to the store and compared these to the Yamaha HS80M and they were very very close. For the price you really can't beat the sound for the price. Excellent buy!
this is my first set of actual mixing monitors. i have been mixing songs for a very long time on headphones and decided it was time to get away from this evil practice. this is a hard review for me because i dont have enough experience with monitors. i personally am very happy with them. they sound great and my mixes sound much more balanced when played acrossed different systems. the price was definetly right. astheticly pleasing to look at. larger than i thought they would be but i guess thats ok. they can get VERY loud but i usually listen at much lower volumes to prevent fatigue. if you have been trying to mix on cans i would suggest a pair of these to make your mixes more accurate.
After listening to these in my friends studio i knew that i had to get a pair. Once i hooked them up i was pleased they sounded as good as i remembered.
About 2 weeks ago I added a pair of KRK ROKIT G2 8s to my PC based project studio. Before I fired them up, I calculated the optimum positioning, spread and angle for a 2 channel set up; set the High Frequency adjustmen "Flat" and set the System Gain to +6. I then pulled up a recent mix and patched in my old main tracking/mix/mastering monitors (M-AUDIO LX4 satelites & Sub) and hit play. Next I patched in the ROKIT 8s. What a difference! The mids were sweet, not harsh. The highs were bright and the bottom end tight and translated the sub bass as well as my M-AUDIO. To my surprise, the overall frequency response of the ROKIT 8s equiled the M-AUDIO satelite/sub setup but with dramaticly increased clarity and imaging. The one thing that drew me to the ROKIK 8s over other comparable near field monitors (M-AUDIO, Mackie, etc.) was the front firing bass port. With a small project room with a basic rectangular shape, rear firing bass ports tend to couple with the walls and give a distorted low frequency image. And, you can't go wrong with the price. Great bang for your buck.
I definitely enjoy the "evenness" of my RPG2(8). I actually own two of them. The clarity is absolutely crisp and I highly recommend purchasing these monitors whether you are a hobbyist or an industry professional.
just got this monitors after spending more then a hour at guitar center long island .especial thank to billy gailyard pro audio specialist for helping me make the right choice.. AND THE SOUND IS HOT..!!! LOVE IT!!!
