Overview

KRK's Rokit G2 (Generation 2) powered studio monitor is designed to give amazing performance and accuracy for the home or project studio. The G2 Rokit has radically curved edges which virtually eliminate diffraction and provide a wider sweet spot. The Rokit G2 also features a great looking cabinet with a front-firing bass port and KRK's trademark yellow glass-aramid composite woofer and soft-domed tweeters. Dual high-power amplifiers in each speaker and active crossovers provide smooth and accurate reproduction. The Rokit monitor has the most accurate response curve in its class ensuring that you hear all of the details in your mix.

The KRK RokitG2 Series takes value-priced monitors to a new performance level. All of the great stuff that Rokit's have been known for (front-firing bass port, soft-domed tweeter, glass-aramid composite yellow cone) are still there, but the G2 Rokit's feature refined voicing and a new curved baffle that looks great, reduces diffraction and provides even better monitoring accuracy.

Welcome to the all new Generation 2 Rokit Powered

Studio Monitor Series from KRK Systems. For years the Rokit series has been a popular choice for accurate monitoring in studios large and small. Now the all new Generation 2 Rokit studio monitor provides a new standard for even better performance and accuracy, raising the bar once again.

No Pain With Gain

Why compromise gain structure to achieve a comfortable listening level? As musicians and recording people themselves, KRK asked that question too. So each Generation 2 Rokit monitor comes with an Input Volume Control that provides an adjustable gain range from +6dB to -30dB. Just another way the Rokit lets you focus on your mix, and not on compatibility concerns.

Catch A Wave, For A 3D Mix

Recessed tweeters may look the same, but they don't perform the same. KRK has designed a superior tweeter wave guide for the Rokit that provides optimal high frequency pattern control and focuses the sound outward, away from the cabinet. More conventional designs direct sound along the plane of the cabinet where waveform interaction can cause phase problems and increased diffraction. KRK knows a properly engineered high frequency wave guide is a critical component to great sound, and one key to KRK's award winning performance.

You've Got Connections

At KRK, the focus is your mix. But it doesn't stop at creating accurate monitors. KRK appreciates the need for monitors that not only sound great but work easily into your particular setup. That's why you'll find plenty of input options with your Rokit, sure to accommodate any studio environment. So if it's RCA, quarter-Inch (balanced/unbalanced) or XLR inputs you require, Rockit has got you covered.

Even More Accurate Than Before

KRK took a great monitor series and made it better. KRK's engineers and listening panel took the Generation 2 Rokit's speaker voicing to even more accurate levels. What you hear is what you are intended to hear, coloration is not part of the spec. This performance is brought to you by drivers that are custom-designed by KRK's world-class studio monitor engineering team, for clear, low-distortion performance.

Take Control

While your Generation 2 Rokit monitor leaves the factory voiced to demanding specs, KRK also knows that no two rooms "sound" the same. As such, each Rokit speaker comes equipped with a High Frequency Level Control. This feature provides specific adjustment of high frequency output most commonly affected by room acoustics. It's just one extra level of control that KRK gives you to ensure the most accurate mix for your
particular room's acoustics.

Don't Be Square, Curves Ahead

The new Rockit monitor looks different, so it can sound better, and in a wider "sweet spot". Traditional rectangular speakers suffer from diffraction as sounds leaving the edge of the cabinet are reflected back into the original sound field, and at different time intervals. This phase distortion creates a "narrow" or boxy" sound. The Generation 2 Rokit series eliminates this issue with radically engineered curved surfaces, so diffraction is virtually eliminated. Simply put, you'll get better sound in a wider area.

Let's Be Up Front

Take a look at competitive monitors and you'll find ports on the back of the cabinet. These rear-firing ports tend to create bass coupling with walls and corners amplifying low frequency information which will color your mix. The superior design of the KRK Generation 2 Rokit's include front-firing ports, which are just the right shape and taper to reduce port turbulence. You'll appreciate the clean and accurate bass performance this approach delivers even at high SPLs.

Power Up!

A great sounding monitor doesn't stop with a great cabinet and custom drivers. KRK's true bi-amplified amplifier system provides discrete low-distortion power for each driver. While the active crossover systems provide smooth and accurate frequency response, and again, accurate diffraction control.

Note: Monitors are sold as singles.

Great Sound/ Great Price

By Ryan Steinberg

from St. John, Indiana

These monitors are great. I run a small at home studio and I love them. For about 400$ for two of them is a steal. The only con is they are slightly bass-heavy. however, remember that why you are mixing, and you will have a great mix. I kind of like the bass-heavy because clients get excited when they are tracking because of the sound. These things are magic though, They have helped improve my mixes so much. If you are looking at the krk5's, please stop. 5's are TINY. These things are huge. and they bump. I can seriously power a small highschool prom and DJ with only these two speakers and NOTHING ELSE. They get loud. Get these, you won't regret them.

Good... When they work...

By ROBERT COOK

from Nashville, Tenn.

I have owned these speakers for a little over a year. Here are my experiences in the long run. These speakers are EXCELLENT for listening to music through. My hangup with them is that they just ARE NOT good to mix through. These speakers are clear and articulate but they simply exaggerate the bass. You will mix your track through them, get it to sound great and spit it out onto a CD. The problem is that, when you go to play that CD through your MP3-player or car stereo, you find yourself asking, "Hey!! It sounded good through the KRK's; Where did all my bass go to?!" All-in-all, they are great for listening to a CD by your favorite artist but they simply are not cut-out to be a Producer's speaker or an audiophile's speaker. Factory DEFECTS are a problem. I have had TWO pairs of these speakers that just have not worked out due to factory quality issues. I ran the first set (Limited Edition Ferrari Grey's) in a PERFECT ENVIRONMENT: I'm talking temperature and humidity controlled, separate 'studio' circuit, power conditioner, smoke-free, et cetera. Those speakers operated well for a year until, one day, one of them developed a hum and lost it's high-end. The tweeter was blown on it mysteriously. I returned it to GC with the pro-coverage I bought. GC-staff were really good about it. I, in-turn, picked up a set of the Ferrari Red Rockit 6's. I plugged them in when I got home to find that the power amp on one of them was blown... RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX. I returned them within one hour of their purchase. All-in-all, they were decent while they were in working condition. GC has been great throughout the ordeal. I will deal with GC again in the future. KRK on the other hand, I will NEVER buy another product from them.

**A MUST HAVE**

By Chris

from Wampum Pa 16157

I just picked two of these monitors up at my local Guitar Center and I must say that after about two hours of listening to everything they had to offer I made the right choice. With Price, Quality, and Performance, these monitors have it all. They are hooked up to my Pod XT being used for recording & mixing. They are also great for just listening to music. These baby's pack the punch with great bass, mids, and highs. Got a great deal with 75 bucks off with the special guitar center was running.

I Own and Recommennd these Monitors

By Dave

from Tyngsborough, MA

I've had the pleasure of owning and listening to these beauties for about 6 months and every day they make me smile. The enclosures are "non resonant" and the imaging is transparent. The bass is tight. They are placed on Auralex MoPAD Monitor Isolation Pads that angle the speakers up from the desk top to my ears. Perfect. I wouldn't change a thing.

Honest

By J

from Orlando, FL

These monitors tell it like it is. No hype, no beautifying. It translates well, and these are my go to monitors. The 6's have the best balance, good low end, prominent and revealing mids, and highs that don't fatigue like the Yamaha HS monitors do. In this price range I couldn't find a better budget monitor for mixing. Sure others may impress you when you demo them at Guitar Center, but they won't tell you the truth about your mix like these do. Even when I purchase other monitors I plan to always have a pair of KRK's to reference to.

Review based buyer.

By Rich Hurd

from Mechanicville, NY

I am most certainly a novice in this arena so I I'll try to contribute something valid from that perspective. Yes, I'm a review buyer. That being said, I am also a dogged researcher when I have an interest. My interest is NOT in musical production but rather Voice over. As a consequence I have to look harder for information that will enable me to make a purchase that Isn't going to waste my time and money. The reviews on this product I found so substantial (Not just the ones on this site) that I stopped searching. I knew these monitors would be more than adequate. I have a Guitar Center near me but have never had reason to shop them before and frankly was quite pleased with the place and service. I'll use them again as I work to complete my home recording studio. My Rokit 6's are installed and I am ecstatic. Why? Because I sound so great? No no no because I can hear everything that doesn't. That's why I bought these and I haven't been disappointed. Oh, just an aside, they were out of the standard model and only had the FG available. No that doesn't mean Florescent Green. It's Ferrari Grey. Let me tell you that was icing on the cake. Instead of 2 yellow eyeballs staring back at me I have a very coordinated and sophisticated looking ensemble. Hope your hunt turns out as well.

Great Purchase

By John

from Riverside,RI

I researched many near field monitors and found the Rokit 6 to be the best in its price range. Very flat. If you want to EQ these, they make for good performance monitors but for mix downs, leave them flat. The only problem I had was I couldn't get enough hi end. I put studio foam under them and low and behold, the vibration on my shelf went away and the hi-end came back.

Fantastic Monitors

By Colin

from River Falls, Wisconsin

These are killer monitors. I hooked them to my computer as they are purely for listening to music. They are very true sound. Do not confuse hi-fi speakers and monitors, the monitors can really kill some songs with the wrong EQ preset. However, these monitors really go a ways. The 6 inch driver really kicks, WAY more than you'd expect. Admittedly, they don't sound like a full hi-fi system, simply because you need a bigger cabinet/driver to move enough air to hit those low explosions and such. However, for music listening they are fantastic. The tweeter is probably my favorite part of the speaker, it's one of the best I've heard. They get plenty loud, but honestly sound better the louder you drive them. These speakers are worth every penny.
