I bought RP-5 about a year ago and they are working very well without any problem. Actually, there are better other monitor speakers, but for this price,,, it's amazing. Just to give you some advises... If you plan using it for the final mix-down or even mastering, you'd better to get YAMAHA HS-50 because RP-5's characteristic of the sound is more like audio speakers rather than monitor speakers and HS-50's sound is very flat which is good characteristic as monitor speakers. However, if you plan using it for pre-production or for listening too and if you are not sound engineer, go get them. By the way, don't forget to set HF Level Adjustment to -2db because without adjustment, RP-5 has little bit too much base. Have a nice deal!!

I went to GuitarCenter to check out monitors and was tempted to buy the pair, but ended up going with the Yamaha 5''. I just didn't hear the clarity out of these speakers that I did from the Yamahas. I don't think they're a bad pair of monitors by any means, but for an extra hundred I think you get a more true sound.

Good for the price!

By Bob

These monitors are great for the price. Exactly what I was looking for production. A little extra on the low end, but thats what I wanted. If production, hip-hop, and r&b are your thing....by all means, go get these.

Let your ears be the judge............

By Jrummerman

All I can say is yoaza yoaza yoaza. These sound delivera's and I mean that with a big D are fantastic. When I complete an instrumental I walk away from the monitors and listen for any instruments that is too hot(loud)and then make my adjustments. It works for me try it out. I plan to get the 8's also for that thick sound. Next time your in the club and you see the dance floor pack listen to the sound of that song that is the thickness I am talking about.

Can't beat 'em for the price!

By T. B.

from CT

Before I purchased the Rokit 5's I previously mixed on M-Audio BX5a's, which are a bit bright, but a decent monitor overall. But when I switched to the KRK's, I noticed an immediate difference, and proceeded to go back and mix all my recent projects over again! Mixes done on these also translate well to the Genelecs at the mastering house we frequently use. You can't beat these monitors for the price.

Love 'em, but my wife won't

By Jlouis

from Salem, MA

I just picked these up yesterday, so I can't speak for the quality of the RP-5 Rokit Monitors over time, but I am VERY impressed with them. I have a small studio, Zoom 1266 recorder, and some low end mic's and axes. I've been mixing using headphones (a nice set of Behringers) and it's been hit or miss. I've been going through cd's like crazy, tweaking and tweaking again. After buying these last night I mixed 4 songs, and It was sweet. I get more bass out of these than I expected from reading the reviews. I almost bought a set of M-Audio BX5a's because of that, but after listening side by side, these were the better set. I haven't been recording long, have a lot to learn, and I thought I would just spend and spend until I get a good sound, but after these RP-5 monitors, I think I can produce something cool. I may not have to re-record everything after hearing myself on these, and a nice FLAT response. Nice and flat. Things sound the same now wherever I play them. My wife is going to kill me though. I've spent about 3 grand since Christmas on gear (mostly at Guitar Center). She likes my sounds though, hope that gets me through.

Incredible Speakers for this price range.

By Cello Player

from Massachusetts

These speakers really are musically well balanced. So many monitors sound like garbage because they are balanced mathematically at the expense of the human ear. This whole series of monitors is made around the idea of striking a happy medium between sterile flat response and the more musical sounding EQ that these speakers have. My only complaint would be that these speakers need help in the bass dept since bass heavy music makes the heads shake a bit more than i'd like to see ( at least they have a heavy duty head that won't likely wear out any time soon). But what can you expect when using 5" speakers, get a decent sub woofer if you like to crank out more bass heavy music, but for the price, these are incredible.

Loved 'em!

By Anonymous

from Kansas

Picked up a pair of these bad boys the other day for a home recording project. They are all I could ask for and more! For the money they can't be beat. GC here in KC gave me a great deal (2 for $225), so that in and of itself is a plus. Got them home and hooked them up to my Tascam mixer and Yamaha 16 track machine and the place came alive. I highly recommend them to anyone who is looking to get started on a "tight" budget! Sure, there are better monitors out there, but for this price? I doubt it!

very nice

By thanew1

from Machesney Park, IL

the sound quality from these speakers is great!!! i compared my dad's theatre room cabinet speakers to these (with much doubt) and to my surprise, they were quite close to being better!!! now i realize they are in different categories of speakers but that's what made the situation that more surprising!!! definately would recommend them!!!

outstanding quality product

By acoustisaurus

from worcester,mass

I was looking to upgrade from my m-audio dx4s which are very good, but Im starting to record a lot of acoustic sources now on my br-1600 and the m-audios were not handling low end things like bass drums and some acoustic guitar notes so I checked out the rokit5 and wow!everything is solid in my mixes great vocals, guitars, drums, congas, etc the only thing I wish was changed is the volume knob is on the back and I have to turn them around to lower or raise volume increasing the risk of pushing in a tweeter with my finger otherwise an awsome product I cant see ever needing more than these for a home-studio

Good Deal

By C.R.

from Continental,Ohio

These monitors are about as true as you can get for the price. When I ordered them I was scecptical, but they are very clear and even. I didn't know that a 5 inch speaker could have that much bass response. Also, if you need any louder than this, you are probably deaf and shouldn't be mastering. If you are recording something like crazy techno or rap I would recomend buying the subwoofer too. If you want to check out some of my results. www.myspace.com/rockinrogers
