2nd generation Rokit monitor with greater sonic accuracy and now in an eye-catching red.

KRK Generation 2 Powered 6 Rokit Studio Monitor offers improved performance and accuracy, and a striking limited edition red enclosure. To push the sound envelope, the Rokit 2-way monitor contains KRK proprietary woofers and tweeters. The KRK Rokit monitor's speakers, crossovers, and amplifiers are tuned for maximum performance: improved top-end frequency response, increased articulation, better imaging, faster attack times, and less distortion. The 1" neodymium soft dome tweeters are more natural and less harsh than metal-domed tweeters, resulting in reduced ear fatigue and more natural mixes. The Glass Aramid Composite Cone Woofer maximizes excursion performance without compromising reliability and minimizes distortion. KRK even improved the speaker voicing of the Rokit series. Simply put, the KRK Rokit G2 is one of the most accurate monitors in its price range.New Radically Curved Front Baffle DesignThe new KRK Rokit speakers look different, so they can sound better, and provide a wider "sweet spot." Traditional rectangular speakers with square or slightly rounded edges suffer from diffraction as sounds leaving the edge of the cabinet are reflected back into the original sound field, and at different time intervals. This phase distortion creates a "narrow" or boxy" sound. The Rokit Generation 2 Series monitor eliminates this issue with radically engineered curved surfaces, so diffraction is virtually eliminated. Simply put, you'll get better sound in a wider area.Recessed High Frequency WaveguideKRK has designed a superior tweeter waveguide that provides optimal high frequency pattern control and focuses the sound outward, away from the cabinet. More conventional designs direct sound along the plane of the cabinet where waveform interaction can cause phase problems and increased diffraction. KRK knows a properly engineered high frequency waveguide is a critical component to great sound, and one key to KRK's award-winning performance.Bi-Amplified Design with Active CrossoverA great-sounding monitor doesn't stop with a great cabinet and custom drivers. This true bi-amplified amplifier system provides discrete low-distortion power for each driver. KRK's active crossover systems provide smooth and accurate frequency response, and again, accurate diffraction control.Newly Designed Rigid Wood CabinetWhile the radically designed curved front panel with flush and radius surfaces provide excellent imaging characteristics and a much wider sweet spot, the Rokit's rigid wood cabinet construction improves overall structural integrity, extended low frequency response, and increased damping characteristics.Multiple Input OptionsAt KRK, their focus is your mix. But it doesn't stop at creating accurate monitors. KRK lives for this stuff and appreciates the need for monitors that not only sound great but work easily into your particular set up. That's why you'll find plenty of input options with your Rokit that are sure to accommodate any studio environment. So if it's RCA, 1/4" (balanced/unbalanced), or XLR inputs you require—Rokit has got you covered.High Frequency Level ControlWhile your Rokit Generation 2 leaves the factory voiced to demanding specs, KRK also knows that no 2 rooms "sound" the same. As such, each comes equipped with a High Frequency Level Control. This feature provides specific adjustment of high-frequency output most commonly affected by room acoustics. It's just one extra level of control that KRK gives you to ensure the most accurate mix for your particular room's acoustics.Front-Firing PortTake a look at competitive monitors and you'll find ports on the back of the cabinet. These rear-firing ports tend to create bass coupling with walls and corners amplifying low frequency information which will color your mix. Just like its big brothers (VXT and Expose) the G2 Rokit includes front-firing ports, which are just the right shape and taper to reduce port turbulence. You'll appreciate the clean and accurate bass performance, this approach delivers, even at high SPLs.Input Gain ControlWhy compromise gain structure to achieve a comfortable listening level? As musicians and recording people themselves, KRK knows that your monitor has to play nice with other components in your system, which is why KRK gave RokitG2 an ultra-compatible Input Volume Control that provides an adjustable gain range from +6dB to -30dB. Just another way RokitG2 lets you focus on your mix, and not on compatibility concerns.

With our Guaranteed Lowest Price, you can be assured of complete satisfaction and the lowest available price, or your money back!

  • I used to not like krk.........

As reviewed by Ranman on 10/1/2010

But i have been debating on finding anything to replace my 8 year old m-audio bx5a monitors, which served me well. I was leaning a bent over to grab a pair of Yamaha hs80m's. Sold out everywhere and the last day of sale. I Almost walked out with the jbl lsr 4328's then i realized how big 8 inch woofers are....yikes. Saw that KRK had an 6 inch with a gunmetal silver type color. I had Antonio play them for me at guitar center brookfield and right away i could tell that they are what anyone who mixes down there work down to the T........BALANCED!!!!!!!!! I grabbed a pair got them home and played back some of my old stuff.....OMG. I suggest anyone looking for Nice Low End, Present Mids, And Suttle highs do your self a favor and treat yourself to these You Will not be disappointed. Seriously I was mixing down on those m-audio's. These are a nice step up without breaking the bank.......And I wanted The LSR 4300 series....lol...Thanks KRK AND Antonio of guitar center brookfield of Wisconsin.

  • More Than Looks

As reviewed by StudentONaBudget on 1/21/2010

I was skeptical with when deciding to upgrade. I was almost lured to the JBL LSR series monitors with there amazing low end and singing highs, but I couldn't deny how these seemed more honest, especially in the mids. It paid off big time. My mixes sound a lot better the FIRST time around. People complain about the modest low end, but it's accurate and leads to mixes that won't blow out your car stereo, but won't feel weak either. Best in the price range. Period. And look amazing as well.

  • Good Definition For a Fair Price

As reviewed by Bill Seper on 1/19/2010

In the 6 to 8" woofer category, these speakers are quite stunning. They don't have the harshness of the similarly sized Yamaha, Mackie, or M-Audio units. The bass is full without sounding tight and punchy like a guitar speaker (a problem with many ported monitors). What I find them best for is mixing sound for video as they handle the kind of explosive sounds I'm often forced to use with video productions. They're also great for in-studio monitoring of instruments. Got a POD or V-Amp you like to record with? These are a great choice for monitoring those guitar sims and the like. This is my first venture into "powered" monitors. These RKO's are actually a bit large to call near-field since they carry 6" woofers and a front bass port. I still find myself testing mixes on a smaller set or ancient Sony units because, as the adage goes, if it sounds good on those, it'll sound good on anything. The RKOs do sound terrific however.
