Comments about K&M Microphone Stand with Telescoping Boom Arm:

I bought these stands along with a DR low profile telescopic boom. The DR and the K&M are very similar in construction, weight and stability. You wouldn't go wrong with either stand. I use these K&M specifically for my snare drum mic, a Shure PGA57, and for two overhead mics, PGA81s. Very adjustable and I can get excellent height for the overheads. They're not going anywhere. The metal on the stands is heavy-duty. The metal coating on the K&Ms is slightly flatter in color than the DR'S which are bit shinier, but not a significant difference. Very adjustable and could cover anywhere on the set. I prefer the K&M tightening lugs compared to the DRs, but both are very functional. Good quality stands. The will last you a long time.

Comments about Microphone Stand with Telescoping Boom Arm:

Have only had it for a week but love it. I needed a home-studio/misc stand and this was a great choice. Solid and built to last, no cheap plastic parts. Will be looking at K&M again if I need any stands.

        A step up in quality

        By STEVEN ELDEN

Comments about K&M Microphone Stand with Telescoping Boom Arm:

I promised myself that I would never again use my old mic stand after a gig with a low ceiling. As usual, I had tightened the clutches to the point of keeping the microphone where I wanted and I couldn't loosen them. In the process, I banged my guitar on the ceiling, strained my wrist, and let out with a string of #$!&^*! My friendly GC rep recommended the K&M and I have to say it's great. Smooth clutches that hold, a slightly heavier construction, and the legs have some resistance when they are folded so I don't have to secure them with a rubber band for transport. Even the angle of the legs when extended is a bit steeper so it's easier to run cables under the stand.

        Best Stand You Can Buy

        By PonyBoy

        from Riverside, CA

Comments about K&M Microphone Stand with Telescoping Boom Arm:

This is the international standard for microphone stands! Far and above the best mic stand on the market. You don't have to have a gorilla grip to keep the adjustments secure. I am a sound guy that works in a lot of venues and love it when I see stands from this company! Even when it's been re-branded you can always tell the quality craftsmanship of this company. There's nothing worse than a boom stand that droops changing a drum overhead into a floor mic. Yes, it is a little much, but if you treat it right, this stand could last you decades. It's well worth the investment.

        K&M Mic Stand

        By DAJ

        from Kansas City, MO

Comments about K&M Microphone Stand with Telescoping Boom Arm:

4 of 5 only because it's a little pricey. But hey, it's an awesome stand! The telescoping boom reduces the likelihood of it getting knocked into by passersby. Though it is a tripod stand, there's a nice heft to the base which increases stability even further. All the different clutch mechanisms that keep the tubing pieces in place do so quite well and with much less force needed to lock it down. If you use a mic stand often, this one will serve you much better than the "economy" models!
