I just ordered two of these stands. I do a lot of teaching, both in person and by Skype, and I need a place to put my cello down safely when I'm not demonstrating on it. It's almost completely vertical - a space saver, and it is stable. It is very portable, and the price is right. I use it for my half-size and my full-size cellos. I put it on my Santa's cello list for my students. Sometimes, half the battle of initiating practice time is just getting the instrument out of the case.
This stand is light, adaptable and sturdy, three things that are absolutely necessary for a gigging musician. I collapses into a nice, flat configuration that is easy to carry and/or pack. It sets up in a variety of widths, so it works for my guitar, my banjo or my mandolin. It's stable. Its surfaces are designed to protect the instrument's surfaces. It just works.
This stand can be placed in any room and present a warm comfortable look. The beauty of your guitar is displayed not the stand. It's sturdy design supports securely and can be quickly folded up and put in a small back pack or duffle bag that makes it a perfect portable stand unlike the tubal-er metal types that are yuk.. eye sores, and bulky. This is a must have Guitar stand.
This is a decent little stand, but it's not as great for a full-size cello as some may claim. Stand forces the cello in an almost totally erect position. The bottom rest is a tight squeeze for a 4/4 cello, so any backward pressure on the neck while the cello is in the stand could damage the cello base. Not good if you're in a tight place where you might bump the instrument, since their is no neck support. A mild nudge will tip the cello over. The price is right, but this is much more of a an acoustic guitar stand than a cello stand.
They had what I was looking fore, they had a low price and shipped befor Christmas.
I've used these for a few years. I gig with two guitars and can fit two of these stands in my backpack along with mics, chords, etc. They're well built, have never failed and are very stable.
Great stand, solid and well made. Used for a cello, as specified. Someone had written online that you can use a guitar stand for a cello, this did not work for me. However, this stand was just what I needed. I highly recommend the display of such an instrument, as it encourages practice by the youthful cellist.
Daughter had one of these before for her cello, and we needed another. Small, sturdy, very portable. Good price.
