The "fits-in-the-bell" four-legged clarinet stand is great; just cut off the very tip of the plastic cone that actually holds up the instrument if it doesn't fit in your case. The mod has absolutely no effect on the functioning of the stand, and the whole deal now fits in the case with the instrument. The tips of the legs stick out a little past the chopped end of the cone, but they fit in the case much better than the whole cone. K & M stuff is sturdy & generally well-designed.

It's a nice sturdy stand, but no matter what kind of clarinet case you have, it will not fit in the bell. The product description here is actually for a different K&M stand that wwbw used to sell. You can find that stand on other sites, such as amazon, and that one does detach and fit in the bell. Otherwise, this stand does the job and it's reasonably priced.

Comments about K&M Folding Clarinet Stands:

Will look for a different one that will fit in the case with the clarinet. Very stable, just need an extra hand to carry it.

      Save Your Clarinet!

      By MIKE JOBBINS

Comments about K&M Folding Clarinet Stands:

I bought THREE of the 4-leg version of this clarinet stand. My investment in clarinets for grandchildren would be a wasted if clarinet were ruined by setting on a chair, or falling over and breaking. The only reason I do not give a 5-star rating, is the phrase "stores in bell of clarinet" isn't true. the stand's length when clarinet is disassembled, and the limited size a ordinary clarinet case, do not allow the stand to be stowed in the bell of the clarinet, and the case to be closed.

      Another purpose for Clarinet Stand

      By Gary B. Taylor

      from Eagle Bend, MN

Comments about K&M Folding Clarinet Stands:

I purchased the K&B Clarinet Stand and it arrived in three days. I am not a clarinet player. I play trumpet, own a piccolo trumpet and needed a stand for it. On several trumpet player websites, players recommended a clarinet stand. This stand works perfectly for a piccolo trumpet. It holds it steadily and stores in the bell just as it was designed to do with a clarinet. Perfect solution for this particular problem.

Great stand, but get the 4-leg model

      By Jacob O.

      from WA

Comments about K&M Folding Clarinet Stands:

I ordered the 4-leg model a year ago, and it's served me very well. It's a bit longer than the bell, so in order for the stand to store inside, you have to have the right type of case. The buffet case I had worked because the barrel is placed inline next to the bell, so the stand can protrude into the barrel. I highly recommend it. I just got the 3-leg model for my A clarinet. It turns out that it is hardly more stable than the 4-leg model at all; I did some calculations and there's about 2 degrees of difference. Just get the 4-leg model. It's perfectly stable, and even if it doesn't fit in your case, it's still more compact.

No, the 4 leg won't "store" in the bell

      By Larry Sims

      from Montrose, CO

Comments about K&M Folding Clarinet Stands:

I should have read the reviews before I ordered, because the 4 legged stand is too long when folded to fit in a standard case. There are some cases (mostly doubles) where the bell stays attached to the lower finger joint, and that would work fine, but the point end of the stand protrudes about an inch or so out of the bell, so that the bell won't drop into the case properly.

      use it for my oboe

      By oboe enthusiast

      from Orlando, FL

Comments about K&M Folding Clarinet Stands:

I purchased this to use as an "on the go " oboe stand. It is lightweight but incredibly stable due to the low profile of the legs when locked in place and extended. The stand sits flush with the floor so that a leg may be slid beneath the leg of a music stand if necessary. I placed some self stick felt strips vertically from base to tip, just to provide some extra cushioning between the bell of my oboe and the already smooth plastic of the stand itself. A terrific buy!

      very good

Comments about K&M Folding Clarinet Stands:

This is a very good stand. I purchased the 4 leg stand that fits in the bell. It fits perfectly. My only complaint is that this stand is not quite as sturdy as the 3 leg stand, but I haven't had any problems yet. I definitely recommend this to anyone.

I recently purchased the tripod version and really like its sturdiness and dependability when it holds my clarinet.
