This mic stand with a telescoping boom arm from K&M (Koenig & Meyer) is a more compact version of their classic 210/2. It's a combination of the long-legged 201A/2 mic stand and their 211/1 telescopic boom arm. Like the 210/2, this stand sets the standard for professional microphone boom stands.
4 of 5 only because it's a little pricey. But hey, it's an awesome stand! The telescoping boom reduces the likelihood of it getting knocked into by passersby. Though it is a tripod stand, there's a nice heft to the base which increases stability even further. All the different clutch mechanisms that keep the tubing pieces in place do so quite well and with much less force needed to lock it down. If you use a mic stand often, this one will serve you much better than the "economy" models!
This is the international standard for microphone stands! Far and above the best mic stand on the market. You don't have to have a gorilla grip to keep the adjustments secure. I am a sound guy that works in a lot of venues and love it when I see stands from this company! Even when it's been re-branded you can always tell the quality craftsmanship of this company. There's nothing worse than a boom stand that droops changing a drum overhead into a floor mic. Yes, it is a little much, but if you treat it right, this stand could last you decades. It's well worth the investment.
