Spanish Beauty
The first thing you?ll notice upon first opening the HumiCase (guitar case with built in climatic protection system) is that this thing really does smell? literally... The combination of exotic woods offers an aroma which can best be described as a cross between a cedar closet and a pine forest.
But wait till you take this beautiful feline into your hands and play your first note or strum your first chord? made me wonder what the heck kind of instrument I'd been playing for the past 45 years? Fender, Martin, Guild, Gibson, etc? feel, look and sound like mere toy quality guitars when compared to the sensation one is exposed to upon first encounter with the Jose Ramirez R2. A similar experience can be had in the piano line with an encounter with a freshly minted Steinway. ?Mesmerizing? is probably the best single word.
This handmade Spanish beauty features Canadian red cedar top, Indian rosewood back and sides, Spanish cedar neck and ebony fingerboard. Without going into details or over complicating this review with the reasons for wood choices, construction methodology, etc., the combination simply works. Just cough, sneeze or speak loud and you can feel this bugger resonate? it?s almost as though the *%#$ thing is alive?
The Ramirez family has been creating top notch classics since 1882 for masters the likes of Andres Segovia and Christopher Parkening. So, if it?s good enough for them, it?s good enough for you?

Beautiful Guitar
I have owned my Jose Ramirez R2 for over six months and it just keeps getting better. The more you play it the better it sounds. I play everyday with great enthusiasm. You won't be sorry if you are looking for a good classical guitar to add to your instruments.
