This is a pretty sweet little guitar hanger. It's hard to describe how it really works, as you're figuring it out you may wonder if it will really hold, but when you put it up it's as solid as any other type of stand/hanger out there. The neck is safely clamped in the hanger, and the body leans very gently against whatever piece of furniture you put it on. Not nearly enough to ever do any damage either, in case anyone was wondering. The coating on the hanger does a wonderful job of keeping your axe scratch-free. All in all, a great portable hanger that I recommend for anyone who travels, or just would like a stand that they can move around their home.
