Jet City took the legendary JCA20H and added a second, footswitch-accessible overdrive channel, along with a tube-buffered, serial effects loop. Poised to change the amp world . . . again, the JCA22H is elegance in design both inside and out, delivering unflinching reliability and everything you’d want in an amp. With full EQ control and separate preamp gain and master volumes, the JCA22H can deliver spanky cleans all the way through saturated, Soldano high-gain overdrive.
I didn't like this amp out of the box. It just sounded a little too schizo. I couldn't get a consistent sound out of it. It has some weird overtones and harsh overdrive sounds. After replacing the tubes ( the stock tubes were literally the worst sounding tubes I have ever heard - I just pitched them in the can)and then putting a 20 henry choke in it (same as AC30) and upgrading the resistors that attach to the tube sockets with Allen Bradley 2 watters, it's a different beast. I made a recording recently in a bedroom with too much glass but it will give you an idea of what it can sound like. I was using an 82 SG for both guitar parts.
