Jensen Mods are a series of Jensen musical instrument speakers developed to give a contemporary feel with a touch of the old British sound. Bought this for my Vox VT15 because the stock speaker couldn't handle lows at all. This speaker did the trick and sounds great. A great price too.
I used this speaker to mod my little VOX tube amp. The VOX AC4TV8 is a 4W tube amp with the stock 16-Ohm speaker. The amp really puts out 8.5 Watts when matched to an 8-Ohm speaker. This Jensen MOD8-20 speaker does the trick. Gone are the muddy humbucker sounds, and single coils sing even more. But beware, you can't use the attenuator switch with the amp modded this way unless you put in higher rated screen resistors (you risk blowing them). Leave it at the full power 4W setting and you're ok (and the amp will be delivering 8 Watts to the speaker). There's tons more room in the volume knob to get different tones now because the breakup is smoother, work the guitar volume too. Maybe I defeated the purpose of buying a 4W tube amp with an attenuator, but this is now an even better kickin' tube amp.
I bought this for my valveking 8 which sounded like a box even after a tube change. But after I drop this speaker in wow what a difference like night and day took a bit to break in but I play allot so it took me no time at all. I highly recomend this upgrade especially if cant afford a boutique 5watt.
