The Jensen 'C' Series provides pristine vintage tone coupled with the cost and weight advantages of ceramic magnets. Originally developed in the 1960s to meet the ever increasing demands of the emerging pop music industry, the 'C' Series has remained influential ever since. 4 or 8 ohms.
I put this jensen speaker in a 15 watt roland cube amp and now there is tone coming from it that was not coming from the oem one. It now soumds great and its a joy just to listen to the amp.I highly recommend this speaker.
I have a vintage Dean Markley amp. The Jensen speaker made it sound like the day I took it out of the box.
I used this speaker to replace a Emminence G1 that was in my 72 Silverface Champ when I bought it. Not sure why I replaced it, other than I wanted something that was closer to the original specs and felt the current speaker was lacking in fullness. The speaker sounds good and is doing the job, but it does not have the character and liveliness the G1 had (at least with its current hours toward break in). Maybe I am expecting too much out of a 8 inch speaker, but I was hoping to have a little more edge than this speaker delivered. I have put about 20 hours on it before writing a review just in case playing time changed things a bit. So far, it sounds about the same as it did out of the box. I think the speaker is very adequate and is a solid choice if you are hoping for stock performance in a small practice amp. Having said that, it is not likely not impress you if you are looking to improve the tone of an already functional amp.
