I hadn't played harmonica in about 20 years and didn't want to spend a lot of money on something I wouldn't use a lot, so I bought this one. If you're looking for a toy to give a kid and don't mind if it gets lost or broken, or if you just want to see if playing the harmonica is for you without investing any real cash, this will probably get the job done. However, you'll quickly outgrow it. It's certainly not intended as a pro instrument. It's pitched pretty high, so you can't tune your guitar to a standard tuner first. Admittedly, you typically tune your guitar to the harmonica for playing solo, but if there's a piano around, forget using this harp as accompaniment. It's also fairly out of tune to itself. On the plus side, it bends notes nicely, and it actually sounds pretty good. I played live with it the first week, but had to be extremely light and gentle on some notes to be anywhere near in tune. I'm definitely buying a better one.

        Comments about Jambone Harmonica:

I own several different brands of expensive/professional harmonicas and I also own several different brands of inexpensive harmonicas and this is definitely one of the better inexpensive ones. I do not play the inexpensive ones at gigs but I do have t hem laying around the house and use them to practice. I keep close tabs on the expensive ones but don't worry about the others. Bottom line, if you are looking to buy an inexpensive harmonica this is a good choice.

            Comments about Jambone Harmonica:

Cheap instruments are sometimes pitched as being "good for beginners," but I don't follow that logic. Since this harmonica makes you work much harder, especially at drawing and bending notes, it seems to me it would only discourage beginners from sticking with it. They'd be likely to just think learning the instrument was harder than they thought and give up. If you're looking for a harmonica for a beginner, spend a little more and get one that plays easier. That way they may stick with it.

I bought this to test it on a specific song. So it was useful for that but it's a cheap instrument and feels and plays that way. Good enough for limited use.

For the price they are awesome. Its still going. I can pull a train on a harmonica if I need to but this one is pretty good. Ive had it for 5 or 6 months and it still has all the right tones.

I love my gear, and this is so much longer lasting then "a day at the zoo" so to say. The time is well spent playing and feeling productive with an affordable harp. Thanks for having stuff affordable so I can play!!!

Real good for the price. Not sure how durable they are. If you need a harp for some special tune this will get you get by on the cheap. We used them at a mass harmonica jam recently and they did the trick.
