Comments about Jackson X Series Soloist SL3X Electric Guitar:

Great guitar no problem's right out of the box. But I didn't like the fact I payed for a new one and got a open box one it had a 14" drum head in the box with the guitar that I did not order and they would not work with me in any way except for me to return it to them and they would ship me another one. This was my 2nd guitar I had got from them because I had got a ESP first was junk and not as dicribed took 2 week's to get the Jackson and did not want to wait for 2 more. I do recommend the guitar but not the people I got it from.

Comments about Jackson X Series Soloist SL3X Electric Guitar:

I've only had his guys for a week and change so my opinion of it might be a little more critical than others. I'll start off with the finish first. The neon pink is incredible and the finish was perfectly smooth as I expected without any blemishes or scratches. The binding is a nice touch as well especially as it goes all the way around the headstock. The tremolo works well and locks as it should but the springs are a little noisy for my liking. I was planning on upgrading to the 1984 Original Floyd anyways so I'm not too concerned. The neck is properly nice and a wonderful one to play for the shredder and for the less extravagant players out there too. It's a combination of a strat with a thinner ibanez if that makes sense. The cons for me have to be with the electronics. I was a bit underwhelmed with the tone coming out of it and realized that it had more to do with the pickups than with anything else. It's not a high output pickup and it's probably wise to upgrade them depending on your musical style. Being that this one is for playing 80s hard rock and metal I'll be needing a little more output and will probably upgrade the electronics as well. For most players buying this guitar at this price point it's a nice one to get, especially if you've left a budget for upgrades as well.

Comments about Jackson X Series Soloist SL3X Electric Guitar:

I took a chance on one of these beauties and all I can say is finally Jackson has a great mid priced guitar again. I never liked the feel of the js series and i have a dxmg that I'm crazy about. they look like the same guitars but the dxmg is just far superior in feel. so my next move was to go all out and get an sl1 but dropping that kind of cash don't come easy. thought I'd try one of these sl3x's and am so glad I did, feels great, no complaints about the pickups(even though they are Duncan designed and not the tb4 you would get on the sl1 for $2500 . bottom line, if your looking for a great guitar in this price range get it. you wont be disappointed. I do recommend having it set up by a tech , mine needed a truss rod adjustment right out of the box but after a proper set up I've found my new favorite, good job Jackson.

Comments about Jackson X Series Soloist SL3X Electric Guitar:

Purchased as a gift, for an experienced guitarist who uses it primarily for metal style music (not in a band, but recording and experimenting at home). He says it's lots of fun to play, feels excellent, and has better pickup than any other guitar he's owned so far. The only drawbacks are an input plug that is slightly loose, and the pickup/bridge settings needed to be customized.

Comments about Jackson X Series Soloist SL3X Electric Guitar:

Opened the box to see the beautiful satin finish and black hardware on this Jackson. I've never purchased a guitar of this caliber and was surprised it did not come with the tremolo bar and the key to the tune locks. After playing it for about 30 minutes to an hour, I came to the conclusion that I love it, but I had a couple issues that I will need to get tuned up. For one, the input is not solid and the cable has some movement to it. The washer and nut look like they're tightened to the base, but the cable moves and makes me very uncomfortable - One unfortunate snag of the cable, and I feel it's coming off.The second thing that needs help is the high E string has some buzz around the 12th -14th frets. I guess I can adjust the bridge or other things - I'll have to look it up or take it to the GC location for a look. Those issues aside, I love the feel of the neck and sound of the pickups - although the mid single pickup is right in the middle of my picking and may get some major scuffing after a while.
